Who Is Fred The Godson?
Fred the Godson began his continuing ascent to stardom in the gritty South Bronx ghetto of New York. He spent his early days learning the harsh realities of life on 156th & Fox, an area submerged in drug wars that he struggled to evade. Instead, Fred sought refuge in his large family. Though he came from a two parent household, life was nonetheless rough as they struggled to provide for six children. His family saw many hardships and tragedies living in the merciless Bronx ghetto. At a very young age, Fred found himself living a desolate existence; particularly after having watched his house burn down, and consequently experiencing life in a shelter. While future prospects seemed dim to Fred, given his circumstances, he was still determined to overcome the obstacles, thus finding a way to conquer his sorrows.

Fred eventually enrolled at Monroe high school, but was affected by the temptations that led him away from his studies and into the streets. The combined pressures from his peers and home life prevented him from graduating. Fred had reached a low point in his life. On top of his scholastic disappointments, Fred suffered from Kidney disease, Asthma, and Diabetes. Clearly a number of factors culminated to make Fred's life harder than that of many adolescents his age, however, still he persevered.

One of the factors that allowed Fred to persist through the tougher times in his life was music. He recalls falling in love with music, and the Hip-Hop genre more specifically, after seeing MC Hammer. He quickly gained an appreciation for the performance aspects of Hammer's work. At the age of fifteen, Fred also discovered that he had a special talent. He had an exceptional aptitude at working with words. He eventually combined this verbal propensity with his love for music, and found his niche. After becoming further enthralled with early hip hop acts, Fred began allowing this new love to penetrate every aspect of his existence. He began to put his life into the language of rap music, and so began his ascent to lyrical greatness.

By the time Fred turned twenty, he had mastered the art of verbal composition. As he matured he became more confident, and subsequently his flow evolved. Accordingly, his punch lines became fiercer, and his songs improved drastically. He was inspired by the work of artists like Jay-Z, and worked toward creating a repertoire equally as strong. By combining witty punch lines, with the gritty realities of New York life, and expressing them in an animated though calculatedly smooth flow, Fred has managed to concoct a distinctive style that is raw though relatable, and equally appealing.

In recent years Fred has taken more far-reaching steps in terms of pursuing a professional career in rap. By purchasing a studio, investing money into promotional tools and seeking new management, Fred has effectively created a prime environment in which to continue honing his craft, as a serious dedicated artist. In addition, he has made major accomplishments and personal achievements as far as advancing and bettering his position in the industry by performing at myriad venues, seeking radio promotion and exposing the public to his music by any means possible. In addition, Fred has succeeded in his endeavors with support from powerhouse establishments such as T.B.M. Entertainment and Draft Entertainment; all of whom are dedicated exclusively to the task of exposing Fred to the general public.

Thus far, Fred's unorthodox rapping technique has landed him major meetings with Roc-a-fella, Def Jam, Shady, Sony, Bad Boy, Ruff Ryders and Loud (SRC). He has performed at popular venues such as Sob's, Don Hills, Temple, and opened up for Interscope artist Rich Boy. Fred is also co-signed by Riggs Morales of Shady Records, Super Producer Clark Kent, Dee & Waah of Ruff Ryders as well as Til Welch of Virgin. His achievements in the music industry have gained him widespread recognition, allowing for his star to shine brighter as he climbs the Hip-Hop ladder to prominence.

Fred the Godson released two hugely successful and acclaimed mixtapes in the past year, respectfully titled They Call Me the Flow and American Gangster; the latter of which was featured in HIPHOPWEEKLY magazine. Fred's lyrical abilities have been noted by some of hip hops major players, including international megastar Jay-Z, who—after meeting with Fred at Def Jam—remarked that Fred is exactly what is needed in the rap game. His growing industry buzz enabled a meeting with Conrad from Bad Boy shortly after. Solidifying his place as top dog in the highly competitive world of underground unsigned acts, Fred won the 2007 Underground Music Award for "Best Male Rapper." In addition, his talent has attracted the attention of producers such as Sha Money XL, Reefa, Sean C & LV, Heat Makerz, Rockwilder, Buck Wild, Justice League, Charlamaine, Amadeus, Scram Jones and Teddy Riley, all of whom have collaborated with and contributed to Fred musically. Fred has managed to sustain and maintain business as well as personal friendships with heavyweights such as Lenny S from Def Jam and Omar Grant from EMI Publishing both of whom are avid advocates of his talent.

Appearances and features on major programs such ad BET's Rap City, as well as numerous internet and radio programs, mixtapes, DVDs and blog sites have helped to make the underground powerhouse that is Fred, more accessible to the general public. The most recent testament to his talent and flair came via a feature on the popular website Allhiphop.com's breeding ground. His latest single entitled Get 'Em Fred is also seeing widespread success, garnering BDS spins from various popular radio stations nationwide. The magnitude of Fred's potential is summed up by Beanie Sigel who has described Fred as the best dude he heard since he signed to Roc-a-fella, or perhaps even better by Lenny S who is quoted stating that "Fred is the next dude from NYC to blow up."

In an industry so heavily populated with aspiring artists, each with their own claim to fame, Fred the Godson stands out as a superior and deserving artist. His style and libretto are unique and versatile. His clever flow compliments the genuine authenticity of his music's content. His real life experiences penetrate the psyches of his listeners allowing them to vibe on a personal level. Equally important, Fred consistently demonstrates a predisposition for making hit records. In essence, he is the truth.

Who Is Arcangel?
Austin Alejandro Santos (born December 23, 1985), better known by his stage name Arcángel, is a Dominican-American raised in Puerto Rico singer-songwriter, rapper and actor. He was born in New York City, and eventually moved to Puerto Rico in 2002, interested in becoming a performer of reggaeton, a contemporary Latin American urban music genre. While living in Puerto Rico, he would eventually form part of a popular then-underground reggaeton act, Arcángel & De La Ghetto. The duo eventually went on to make songs that became popular among reggaeton fans in the United States and Puerto Rico, including "Agresivo", "Sorpresa" and "Mi Fanática" during the mid-2000s.

Arcángel went on to release his debut studio album, El Fenómeno, in late 2008. The album included songs that were produced in 2008, as well as the DJ Nelson produced "Chica Virtual", which was produced in 2007. Half of the album also included newly produced tracks, ones including "Pa' Que la Pases Bien" and "Por Amar a Ciegas", which went on to become successful airplay songs on American Latin Urban radio stations across the United States.

Arcángel was born in New York. He was born eldest of three children to Dominican parents. His mother was a former member of the all-women merengue group, Las Chicas del Can, who were popular during the early 1980s to the late 1990s. He grew up listening to various types of music and has been a fan of rock music, particularly Robi Draco Rosa, a Puerto Rican pop rock artist and a former member of Menudo. Arcángel was not always a fan of reggaeton; he claims that it is not his favorite type of music, but it is easy to sing to. During the early 2000s, Arcángel grew fond of the new kind of music. Listening to artists like Tego Calderón and Tempo, it inspired him to pursue a singing and rapping career in Puerto Rico. Also Married &' Had a Child with American Model, Marisol Garcia

After moving to Puerto Rico in 2002, Arcángel had decided to follow in the footsteps of the upbringing of reggaeton music. He went on to form part of an underground reggaeton act, Arcángel & De La Ghetto. The duo was signed to reggaeton singer-songwriter Zion's record label, Baby Records, a subsidiary of Universal Music Group. The duo were also involved with Machete Music in 2004 during the time that they were recording for reggaeton compilation albums. Arcángel & De La Ghetto rose to fame in 2006 on the reggaeton compilation album hosted by Héctor "El Father", Sangre Nueva, with their hit song, "Ven y Pegate." They were also featured on the Luny Tunes-hosted compilation Mas Flow: Los Benjamins in 2006.

Though an active musical duo, Arcángel & De La Ghetto never released a studio album since the formation of the duo. Any production they had been involved with only resulted in tracks and recordings being included on compilation albums or leaked onto the Internet. This was due to a conflict with Baby Records because the company was not releasing any material by Arcángel & De La Ghetto onto an album of their own. Arcángel claimed to have even spent $150,000 on producing an album, which resulted in the label not releasing it to market. The tracks produced were said to have been leaked onto the Internet instead. Arcángel had then filed a lawsuit with Baby Records in 2007 for US$1,000,000 and would eventually leave the record company in December 2006, when he announced that he was embarking on a solo career and founding a label of his own.

After the separation of the duo in early 2007, Arcángel went on to perform solo, working with various reggaeton producers and performers on compilation albums. Most notable of them was a compilation album produced in 2007, Flow la Discoteka 2, which was produced by songwriter and record producer DJ Nelson. The album was an upbringing of different artists trying to rise to fame, one of those including Arcángel, who made a track titled "Chica Virtual", which went on to be one of his most recognizable songs, as well as being a popular airplay single on American Latin Urban radio stations, charting at number 9 on the Billboard Latin Rhythm Airplay chart. It also charted at number 22 on the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks chart.

Since the departure from in early 2008. The decision to release the album, however, was cancelled due to the album being leaked onto the Internet during Spring 2008. The tracks were distributed through his official website and file sharing sites relating to reggaeton under the title La Maravilla. One of the internet leaks, a song titled "Pa' Que la Pases Bien", went on to be a popular airplay track on American Latin Urban radio stations across the United States. The unreleased album being leaked onto the internet resulted in making Arcángel more popular among reggaeton fans in the United States, as well as Puerto Rico.

Arcángel founded Flow Factory Inc. in 2008, and his mother became his manager afterward. He claimed that it was easier having his mother be his manager so that he would not have to pay 20 percent of money received from record sales to his record label and manager. He went on to release his debut album, El Fenómeno, in late 2008. The album included songs that were produced in the last quarter of 2007 and the first quarter of 2008, including the DJ Nelson produced "Chica Virtual". Half of the album was tracks that he originally produced for an album that was to be released in the first quarter of 2008. The other half of the album also included newly produced tracks, ones including "Por Amar a Ciegas", which went on to become a successful airplay single on American Latin Urban radio stations across the United States.

In mid-January 2009, Arcángel announced plans of a European tour sometime during 2009, in promotion of his debut album, El Fenómeno, and to receive more exposure across the world from reggaeton fans. To comment on the tour, he claimed that in order for it to be successful, good equipment would be highly important, and by going along with the tour, he will be able to learn more on what the continental tour experience is like. Arcángel confirmed to be touring in several countries, including Germany, France, Portugal, Spain, England, Holland and Denmark. His Mixtape The Problem Child was released on April 2010 and now he is planning to make a new album called Sentimento, Elegancia & Maldad. His most recent mixtape Optimus A.R.C.A was released on October 2010.

On February 28th, 2012 Pina Records issued a newsletter informing that Arcangel had signed with this record label company and became the latest addition to the Pina Records team called "La Formula" Pina Records is based in San Juan, PR and operates offices in Colombia & Venezuela. Together, they are currently working on releasing the next studio album "Sentimiento, Elegancia y Maldad". (Read More)

Who Is Blackbird Blackbird?
Blackbird Blackbird is the moniker of San Francisco-based wünderkind Mikey Maramag. His unique style of dreamy folktronica recalls influences from all ends of the musical spectrum; deeply textured, hypnotic songs pay homage to psychedelic pop the likes of Caribou and Washed Out, while the warmth of analogue instrumentation spliced with digital artifacts hints at contemporaries James Blake, Four Tet and Mount Kimbie.

Anthemic, dream-driven themes inspire Blackbird Blackbird's work, where layers of electronic texture drape over organic sounds and ghostly vocals. Within elongated song structures, Blackbird Blackbird harnesses thematic elements of dynamism and composition to create depth and complexity, while never losing sight of his pop sensibilities.

Blackbird Blackbird's debut album Summer Heart was lauded by modern tastemakers, receiving critical acclaim from the likes of Fader, XLR8R, Rcrdlbl, and more. Recently returning from a whirl-wind European tour, Blackbird Blackbird has been signed to the Lavish Habits imprint out of San Francisco. Lou's Beer Garden Review By Gracie D. : Austin, TX
Oh my lord, what a cool spot!  My fiancee and I came here expecting one thing (in Austin where we are from, beer garden means picnic tables, big trees, and lots of wood decking), but got something completely different and arguably better!  It's a classy, mod version of a beer garden, I suppose, with a full bar.  Our bartender, Ryan, was a total doll and made some AMAZING drinks.  I had the ginger mojito, the rosemary margarita, and some margarita with a muddled jalapeño.  All were amazing, though I must say they went the extra mile with the rosemary margarita--unbeknownst to me, they had run out of rosemary, so Ryan had Lou himself run out and get some fresh rosemary for my drink!  If that isn't amazing service, I don't know what is.

This anecdote was very typical of the whole place, though--we got very attentive service the entire time and had a wonderful time talking with Lou, Ryan, and the patrons sitting next to us (who were also from Austin, as luck would have it!).

Definitely worth a visit if you are in North Beach.  Or, hell, even if you aren't!

Who Is Blake Shelton?
The world has finally learned what country fans have known since the beginning—Blake Shelton is superstar material.

Blake is the breakout star of NBC's The Voice, a show that gave the handsome Oklahoman the spotlight his fans have long hoped he'd get. Week after week, millions have gotten to see the talent and charisma that have made Blake one of country music's brightest lights.

Perhaps no one summed it up better than Entertainment Weekly editor-at-large Ken Tucker, who cited Blake's "steady transformation into a real TV star, a country sage whose charm is squarely in the great TV traditions of Roger Miller, Jimmy Dean, and Tennessee Ernie Ford."

None of that is news to those who have watched Blake's career unfold. Ever since the power and drama of his 2001 debut single, "Austin," brought him to national attention, Blake has proven himself to be one of the genre's most versatile and accomplished vocalists as well as one of its most compelling entertainers.

His versatility is evident in the wide range of singles he has made his own. He has proven his ability with the stark drama of "The Baby" and "Home," the honest regret of "She Wouldn't Be Gone," the warm intimacy of "Who Are You When I'm Not Looking," the celebration of the moment in "All About Tonight, and the over-the-top fun of "Hillbilly Bone." His skill as an entertainer is apparent every time he takes the stage and carries fans on one of music's most enjoyable journeys.

The first single from his latest CD, "Honey Bee," found the lanky superstar-next-door rising to a now-familiar spot—the #1 position on the country singles charts, which he has reached with six of his last seven singles. "Honey Bee" only hinted at the riches inside Red River Blue.

Blake's latest runs the gamut of everything he does well, from the romance of "Over," with its big chorus and passionate vocals, and "God Gave Me You," a powerful ode to the restorative powers of love, to the clever wordplay and pure country fun of "Hey" and "Get Some." There is also "Ready To Roll," a laid-back celebration of love and leisure, "Good Ole Boys," with its echoes of Waylon and its nod to country boys in a hip-hop world, "I'm Sorry," which displays one of the biggest voices in the genre closing the door on a love gone wrong, and the title track, a classic-sounding look at separation and longing with guest vocals from none other than Miranda Lambert.

If it sounds like more than even a dreamer like Blake could have envisioned, you'll get no argument from the man himself.

"If you'd have told me a few years back that my life would be this good," he says, "I'd have told you that you were crazy. But I'll damn sure take it."

The journey has been a testament to the talent, the persistence and the sheer dynamism Blake brings to the table. He left Ada, Oklahoma, at 17, two weeks out of high school, for Nashville after encouragement from legendary songwriter ("Heartbreak Hotel") Mae Axton. He met and worked with another legend—Bobby Braddock ("He Stopped Loving Her Today")—and earned a deal on Giant Records. It would be several years before that led to a contract with Warner Bros. and "Austin," which launched his career. Since then, his star power, world-class voice and irreverent personality have brought him the acclaim that has translated so well from the world of country music to a wider audience.

"I'm still learning, still reaching and growing," he says, "and it's great to have more and more people along for the ride."

Tucker again sums up the Shelton magic.

"Like all first-rate pop singers, country or otherwise," Tucker writes, "he knows that the best way to impress an audience is by making something difficult look easy."

Speaking of his stint on The Voice, he adds, "Just watching him, the contestants got a lesson in how to comport yourself on stage, and, perhaps, in life."

It is high and richly deserved praise for a singer who has finally entered the upper reaches of the entertainment world.

News : Adele Wins Best Original Song For ‘Skyfall’ Theme

News : Adele Wins Best Original Song For ‘Skyfall’ Theme

Adele accepts the Best Original Song award for ‘Skyfall’

Now, only the Nobel Prize is missing from Adele’s mantlepiece.

The nine-time Grammy winner took home her first Academy Award on Sunday night, as her Bond theme, “Skyfall,” won Best Original Song.

The songstress performs the theme from ‘Skyfall’ on stage at the Dolby Theatre Sunday night.

Adele had performed the song on stage earlier in the evening - part of an Oscar telecast heavily honoring music in movies.

A clearly emotional Adele thanked songwriting partner Paul Epworth for "believing in me all the time.” She also gave a shoutout to husband Simon Konecki between sobs, saying “my man, I love you baby.”

Adele, the first female singer in history to top the Billboard artist, album and singles list in the same year, already took home a Golden Globe for the title track from the James Bond film earlier this year.
