We're NOT YOUR TYPICAL NEIGHBOUHOOd HAUNT, BUT we are the FRIENDLY, neighbourly HOME OF ALL KINDS OF ROCK'NROLL, SOUL, DEEP-FRIED FUNK, Motown, ALL-MANNER OF PUNK, OUTLAW COUNTRY, new wave, bLUES, WESTERN SWING, BLUE-JAZZ-GRASS, big band-swing jazz, NEW ORLEANS BRASS FUNK, SKA, REGGAE, BEBOP, BLUES, TRANCE, HIPHOP, HEAVY METAL, GLAM, GARAGE, SURF-ROCK, ROCKABILLY, POP as in Popular Music throughout the ages... mostly through the 1900's and 2000's, and yes... DISCO (like anything else, some of it has serious, serious hooks), AMERICANA/ROOTS/ALT-COUNTRY and EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN... And we always like hearing and being turned onto great, new music... I have lived (and partied) in Toronto for many a year now and this place is my Friday night go-to. Sure it's crowded and the bathrooms are a complete joke but what it lacks in creature comforts it makes up for in personality. This place is just teeming with "personality". The door man is just lovely and has absolutely no attitude about 'capacity' or anything like that. Feel free to chat him up if you're ever stranded outside. The bartenders are the best! I have left my wallet/credit card/entire identity at this bar more than once (I know, I'm so that girl) and have always had it returned with no questions asked. The drink pours are generous and if you are into reggae, this is a great place to dance it up. The tiny dance floor sure is intimate but the DJ and his posse (always hanging around him on-stage) are friendly and like to get people in the crowd going. You can always find a few people who've had that one drink too many and serve as excellent entertainment and not to mention that they have a burlesque dancer on the bar! And not some vegas surreal looking gal, she's a real girl with real hips who knows how to shake 'em! Beware that you can not use debit or credit to pay as it's a cash only type of place. Other than that, go ahead and give it a gander.

Death Row Records founder Suge Knight ran over a man, possibly killing him, during an argument on a movie set where The Game, Ice Cube and Dr. Dre were filming, TMZ reports.
Suge Knight got into a fight on the set of a film project in Compton, and ran over a man and we're told the victim is dead.
We're told a fight broke out between Suge and 2 crew members. Suge got back into his car, took the wheel and threw the vehicle in reverse ... and ran over a bystander.
The website says Knight's claiming he feared for his safety from the crew members due to his "frail health" after he was shot six times this summer. Knight's also facing up to seven years in jail on another pending legal matter—he was arrested with Katt Williams in October for allegedly stealing a paparazzo's camera.
Update 9:30 p.m. Knight reportedly fled the scene and is currently preparing to turn himself in to LAPD officers.
Update 11:30 p.m. The LA Times has more detail on the incident:
The confrontation began around 3 p.m. when Knight and two unidentified men began arguing on the set of "Straight Outta Compton," a biopic about the group NWA, said Capt. John Corina of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department detective's unit.
At least one of the victims was a member of the film crew, Corina said.
About 20 minutes after the alleged argument on set, the victims visited Tam's Burgers near Central and East Rosecrans avenues, authorities said.
Knight is believed to have followed the men in his truck before running them over the parking lot, Corina said.
Witnesses said the truck hit the men, then backed over them before leaving the scene. One 55-year-old man died and another 51-year-old man was injured. It's being investigated as a homicide, the Times reports.
Update, Jan. 30, 7:50 a.m.: Knight arrived at the LAPD's West Hollywood precinct early this morning flanked by his lawyer, the Los Angeles Times reports. He was arrested on suspicion of murder; his bail has been set at $2 million.
