Who is Omarion?
B2K lead vocalist Omarion (born Omari Ismael Grandberry) went solo in 2005 with O, featuring production help from the Neptunes, Rodney Jerkins, and the Underdogs. The title track, released as the lead single, helped send the album to the top of the Billboard 200 chart. His second album, 21, followed in late 2006 and was kicked off by an excellent Timbaland production, the Top 20 single "Ice Box." His next move was Face Off, a full-length collaboration with Bow Wow released in December 2007. Following a split with Sony BMG, he signed with EMI, where he released 2010's Ollusion. Also an actor, Omarion appeared in the movie version of Fat Albert, as well as You Got Served, The Bernie Mac Show, Cuts, and Feel the Noise.

Who Is Trinidad James?
Coming up somewhere between Wiz Khalifa (loose flow, hedonistic lyrics) and Lil B (free spirit, love of alternative-flavored beats), Atlanta's Trinidad James went from viral to Def Jam signee, and all in his rookie season. Born in Trinidad but raised in Atlanta, Nicholas Williams was a 24-year-old manager of a downtown streetwear boutique when he decided to try his hand at rapping and become Trinidad James. That was late 2011, and in October of 2012, Trinidad dropped his debut mixtape, Don't Be S.A.F.E., which featured the viral hit "All Gold Everything." In December of that year, as the "All Gold Everything" video passed the three-million views mark, Def Jam announced their signing of the rapper and released the "All Gold Everything" remix with verses from T.I., Young Jeezy, and 2 Chainz added to the track. The label gave the Don't Be S.A.F.E. mixtape an official release in early 2013.

News : ‘Slipknot For Saturday Night Live’ Petition Gains Support From Corey Taylor + Shawn Crahan

News : ‘Slipknot For Saturday Night Live’ Petition Gains Support From Corey Taylor + Shawn Crahan

In 2011, a Facebook page was launched petitioning ‘Saturday Night Live’ to bring in Slipknot as a musical guest. It’s hard to believe that the metal phenoms have never graced the ‘SNL’ stage, as they’ve brought the hate to ‘The Tonight Show With Jay Leno’ in the past, along with multiple appearances on ‘Conan’ and ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’

You may remember a Facebook group titled ‘Betty White to Host SNL (please?)!’ Although it was simple online petition, the page gathered a half million supporters, and eventually led to Betty White snagging the precious hosting gig. The ‘Slipknot for Saturday Night Live‘ petition has acquired nearly 9,000 likes as of this posting, but it’s definitely not enough. Thus, we invite Slipknot fans to ‘Like’ the page, because believe it or not, these petitions actually work when enough people get behind them.

‘Slipknot For Saturday Night Live’ founder Chad Cheifer recently wrote us, explaining the inception of his petition, why ‘SNL’ needs a band like Slipknot to tear apart the television stage and how singer Corey Taylor, percussionist Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan and Roadrunner Records have all endorsed the petition:

" It was October 2006 when I first saw the video for “Before I Forget”. I knew very early on there was something different, something unique about this band that I couldn’t even put into words how I felt. I remember my older brother had the Vol. 3: The Subliminal Verses album, so decided to listen to the whole thing for the first time myself. From that moment on, I found myself indulged in the world that is Slipknot. I can listen to any Slipknot song a thousand times, and always hear something different that I didn’t hear before. To me, Slipknot is not just a music, but a way of life.

A couple of years later in 2011, I was watching a Youtube video of Clown and Chris of Slipknot being interviewed, and Clown said that performing on Saturday Night Live is one of the only goals the band hasn’t accomplished yet. I immediately thought of the old Betty White Facebook campaign that got her to host SNL. So I thought to myself, “How awesome would it be to have Slipknot on SNL? That would be the coolest thing ever!” I then created a campaign dedicated to getting Slipknot on Saturday Night Live. This would be the first Facebook campaign to get a musical guest on SNL. This would also shed light on the metal genre in a big way, and give credit to all of the amazing music and talented musicians that have been pushed aside by the mainstream. I’m a big SNL fan and love watching the show, but their choices of musical guests the past couple of years seem to be very redundant. It seems as if SNL has been playing it safe and having the “flavor of the week” perform on the show. It would be nice to see more diversity in their choice of musical guests. I know that Slipknot would put on one of the most electrifying and exciting performances the show has ever seen. They would be one of the all-time greatest bands to rock the SNL stage. Period.

About six months after I started the campaign, it came to my surprise that Clown of Slipknot actually joined the campaign on his Facebook page. Clown believed in this campaign during its early stages, and he even commented on one of my posts telling me, “It’s still one goal and dream to accomplish. I would watch it with my parents in the 80′s.” This was the first big step for the campaign, and his endorsement is what helped build the thousands that have been joining the cause. Until this day, Slipknot for SNL is the only fan created Facebook page he has joined.

A few months later, I reached out to Roadrunner Records and they immediately expressed interest in the campaign. They were so interested that they advertised my campaign the same day they heard about it. They even plugged my campaign a second time, which resulted in even more great feedback and new fans joining the campaign.

Even Corey Taylor endorsed Slipknot for SNL on his Twitter account by advertising my campaign for all of his Twitter followers to see. He had immediate interest in the campaign, and with his support, this dream is one step closer to becoming reality.

By Loudwire, Roadrunner Records, Corey Taylor, and Clown all endorsing Slipknot for SNL, that proves that we are all in this together. Everybody can be apart of the Slipknot family, and any voice can be heard, no matter how far away it may be. Getting support from all of them proves that you should never give up on a dream, no matter how big it may be.

It’s been a great experience thus far bringing together maggots from everywhere. I’ve created a community of Slipknot and SNL fans all cheering for the same cause and it’s been truly gratifying watching the campaign grow and getting the chance to communicate with awesome people.

Slipknot gave me something to believe in, and by having them on one of televisions biggest stages, they might just give someone else something to believe in. That is what this whole campaign is about. It’s a true testament to the band, the fans, and at the same time deliver a helping hand.

Paul Gray would be proud. Behind those masks and roaring sound is an emotional, melodic masterpiece that needs to be heard."

If they have already performed on Jay Leno once, Jimmy Kimmel twice, and Conan O’Brien three times, than why not Saturday Night Live?

Who is Passion Pit?
The Boston, Massachusetts-based Passion Pit began as a one-man project of singer and songwriter Michael Angelakos to produce a Valentine's Day gift for his girlfriend. The gift, an EP entitled Chunk of Change, soon wound up in the hands of friends and acquaintances, who were enthralled with the work. Eventually, Passion Pit became not only a vehicle for the romantic expressions of Angelakos' heart but a full-fledged band — at least for live gigs — and opened for a number of well-known artists, including Death Cab for Cutie. This momentum led to label interest, and in 2008 the Frenchkiss label picked up Chunk of Change for re-release with the addition of two bonus tracks. The EP, and especially the track "Sleepyhead," garnered a lot of attention from bloggers and fans of giddy electronic indie pop. Columbia Records also liked what they heard and paired with Frenchkiss to release Manners, the first album by the group (which now consisted of Angelakos, Nathan Donmoyer, Ian Hultquist, Ayad Al Adhamy, and Jeff Apruzzese), in spring of 2009. The band's long-awaited 2012 follow-up, Gossamer, was preceded by the singles "Take a Walk," "I'll Be Alright," and "Constant Conversation." ~ Chris True & Tim Sendra, Rovi

Who is OneRepublic?
Featuring the anthemic songwriting of Ryan Tedder, OneRepublic rose to prominence in 2007, when "Apologize" began its reign as the most popular digital download in American history. Although the song proved to be a quick success, OneRepublic had spent five years touring the musical minor leagues before its release, with Tedder splitting his time between the band's work and production gigs for other artists. Tedder and Zach Filkins formed the band in 2002 and relocated to Los Angeles shortly thereafter, adding keyboardist Drew Brown, bassist/cellist Brent Kutzle, and drummer Eddie Fisher to the lineup in the process. OneRepublic then signed with Sony BMG's Columbia label in 2003; three years later, however, the bandmates returned from a performance at Coachella to find themselves dropped from Columbia's roster.

Nevertheless, OneRepublic's popularity continued to soar on MySpace, and Tedder helped raise the group's profile by penning songs for artists like Blake Lewis and Hilary Duff. Hip-hop producer Timbaland (with whom Tedder had already worked for several years) took notice of the group's audience and signed OneRepublic to his own Mosley Music Group, a joint venture with Interscope Records. Timbaland also remixed one of the group's most promising tracks, "Apologize," and included it on his own album, 2007's Timbaland Presents Shock Value. The song quickly became a platinum-selling single in many countries, breaking airplay records in the U.K. and selling an unprecedented 4.3 million digital downloads in America alone.

Later that year, OneRepublic stepped out on their own with Dreaming Out Loud, a debut album filled with piano-fueled songwriting and pop/rock melodies. The album quickly went gold, and "Apologize" continued to top the singles charts in multiple countries. Another Tedder-penned track, Leona Lewis' "Bleeding Love," experienced similar success at the same time, thus making Tedder one of the year's most celebrated songwriters. OneRepublic began writing songs for a second album in 2008, and the group later decamped to Colorado Springs to avoid outside distractions. Although initially planned for a summer release, Waking Up wasn't completed until September 2009. "All the Right Moves," the album's lead single, was released to radio that same month, while the entire album followed in November. In 2013, OneRepublic returned with its third studio album, Native, featuring the singles, "Feel Again" and "If I Lose Myself."

Native Review
OneRepublic continues to show that the group's musical rapport is as strong as ever on their third album, "Native."

Frontman Ryan Tedder's falsetto is superb throughout the new offering, which bleeds with emotion and substance. He and his four bandmates are completely in sync.

Tedder, who has written and produced singles for music's biggest acts, from Adele to Beyonce, shines with star appeal alongside a variety of instruments that are smoothly intertwined, ranging from the acoustic guitar to drums. The 12-track album is filled with refreshing and catchy songs: That's certainly evident when the album kicks off with the well-crafted opening track, "Counting Stars," and first single, "If I Lose Myself," co-produced by hit-maker Benny Blanco.

"Preacher" has Tedder reflecting on the days of his childhood, recalling how his life was infused with wisdom by his grandfather, who was a pastor. Tedder's voice also touches the soul on midtempo tracks like "Burning Bridges," the Jeff Bhasker-assisted "Can't Stop" and "Don't Look Down."

Who Is Lana Del Rey?
Vocalist Lana Del Rey makes atmospheric, orchestral, retro-'60s-sounding pop that showcases her torchy image and sensuous singing style. A native of Lake Placid, New York, Del Rey released the single "Kill Kill" under her given name, Lizzy Grant, in 2009 before remaking herself into the pop femme fatale character Lana Del Rey. A video for the single "Video Games" appeared online in August of 2011 and drew considerable buzz, as did a secret show she performed at Brooklyn's Grasslands Gallery that September. Del Rey's EP, featuring the songs "Video Games" and "Blue Jeans," was released in fall 2011. Amidst a heavy dose of hype, her debut album Born to Die was announced by Interscope for release early the following year. Del Rey cemented the anticipation around the album with an appearance on Saturday Night Live, becoming the first artist since Natalie Imbruglia in 1998 to perform on the show before the release of her debut album. Born to Die hit number one in several European countries, reached number two on the U.S. charts, and eventually sold several million copies worldwide. By the end of 2012, Del Rey had released her next work, a mini-album titled Paradise, with a trailer single called "Ride."

Who Is Majical Cloudz?
The Canadian electronic art pop group Majical Cloudz began as the solo project of Devon Welsh. His home-recorded lo-fi synth pop experiments and danceable pop songs made during 2010-2011 were collected and released by Arbutus Records in 2011 as II. The album featured guest vocals from labelmate Clare Boucher (aka Grimes) on a handful of tracks. In 2012 Welsh teamed with instrumentalist Matthew Otto to make Majical Cloudz a duo and their sound expanded as well; now the songs were built on expansive synths and understated rhythms, with Welsh's improved vocals and dramatic lyrics as the focal point. Their first record as a duo, the Turns Turns Turns EP, was released by Arbutus in late 2012, with the promise of a full-length to follow in early 2013.

Their performance is deeply expressive — strong vocals sit on top of washes of white noise, filtered synths and sparse thuds. The songs are intensely lyrical, oriented around themes of death, patience, family, and desire. The live show celebrates the joy in sadness and the value of a shared musical experience.
