News : George Strait Being Honored By Country Radio Hall of Fame
George Strait is retiring from active touring after his Cowboy Rides Away tour this year, but he will still make music. He just won't hit the road to support it, which he has done his whole life. He is just retiring from full on tours; he will still do music and perform live here and there. But even if he didn't, he has had quite the career. So that is why the country superstar will be honored at the Country Radio Hall of Fame induction ceremony on February 26.
The singer will be presented with the Country Radio Broadcasters' 2013 Career Achievement Award during the event, which will take place in Nashville, the county seat of country music. Which means it's the "country" seat, right!
Mike Culotta, President of the Country Radio Seminar, said, "George Strait has done a superb job promoting country music and country radio over the years. His dedication to the format and on-going contribution to the industry as a whole make him the perfect recipient for (sic) this award."
Previous recipients of the award include Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire.
Congrats to George Strait.
