News : Burke High School To Honor Donna Summer
Launching at the Jeremiah E. Burke High School in Dorchester, Massachusetts, The Dream Builders Youth Project will be building and nurturing the next generation of professionals to pursue their passion while being prepared for the obstacles, opposition, or challenges that is expected to come their way. But this program is set to do a lot more. Having the set goal to impact the youth, The Dream Builders Youth Project, will also be bringing it's entire community together for a big project unveiling: A visual mural of Dorchester native, Burke High School Alum, and Legendary singer, Donna Summer. This mural will honor it's history by recognizing a legacy that was left to a community, by one of the worlds most inspirational people in music.
Before Donna Summer got her crown as Disco Queen, she was a Dream Builder involved in the Jeremiah Burke High School Glee Club. A racially and ethnically diverse high school, Burke High School has endured many stigmas and stereotypes throughout the past few decades. But thanks to the strong force behind it's administration, the organization has been striving, while overcoming the negativity. Over the past five years, the Burke has proven it can produce students with the capability to excel both educationally and socially, in and outside of the classroom.
Here is where we need you to come in.
In order to make this project a reality, we need your monetary support to raise funding for the expenses that will be incurred for the creation of the Donna Summer mural.
