Gadgets : Ditto Bluetooth Notifier

Gadgets : Ditto Bluetooth Notifier

After publicity and a Kickstarter late last year, excitement grew around Ditto, a tiny device that promised to notify you only when it was important. Once meant to be shipped in January or February of this year, the buzzer is finally ready to ship next week, and it’s going to put you in control of notifications.

Notifications have gotten out of hand, with incoming texts, calls, social media activity, people following you on Twitter, app updates, and whatever LinkedIn is bugging you about. It’s gotten to the point where paring down those notifications app by app has become a near-insurmountable obstacle on its own, or at the very least a chore.

Ditto allows you to program which notifications are worthy of your immediate attention. Using a Bluetooth connection and an app — there’s no kind of interface on the device itself — you can specify notifications, down to calls or messages from individual contacts, and assign them to different vibration patterns. Any other notification will go to your phone, which ideally will be out of sight and unable to distract you.

So, it’s a programmable buzzer. Not the most exciting thing in the world, and certainly not the first time we’ve seen the idea in action — the Tyia band does the same sort of thing with vibration and light patterns, and looks a lot more chic doing it. That said, there’s nothing out there as simple and cheap as Ditto.

What extra features there are have been added thoughtfully. There’s a clip if you want to attach the Ditto to clothing, or you can grab a band and wear the device on your wrist — underwater, if you like, thanks to a waterproof exterior. And, being a Bluetooth device, Ditto can alert you if you’re forgetting your phone, buzzing when you get out of Bluetooth range and the connection between Ditto and your phone is broken.

Ditto is available now for $40 in black, white, or clear.

Purchase here.

Singles : Chance The Rapper : Israel (Sparring) ft. Noname Gypsy

Listen To : Chance The Rapper : Israel (Sparring)

As we’ve seen time and time again, Chance the Rapper can easily hold his own on stage and in the studio. However, he also knows how to bring a unique voice to his collaborations, such as on his mixtape with Lil B, Free (Based Freestyles), and his live team-up with Kendrick Lamar last month. The MC again shows his ability to adapt yet stay distinct on “Israel (Sparring)”, a joint track with fellow Chicago native Noname Gypsy. You may recognize Noname’s voice from the Surf cut “Warm Enough”, and she and Chance play off each other even better on this latest insightful track.

Videos : Lana Del Rey : High By The Beach

“All I wanna do is get high by the beach” is Lana Del Rey’s mantra throughout her muted, hip-hop-inflected new single. At first glance, the “High By The Beach” video appears to grant her wish, comprising glamour shots of Del Rey languishing in a luxurious coastline property while a helicopter lingers nearby. Things take a turn for the intriguing halfway through: She rushes down to the oceanside to grab a guitar case, which turns out to contain a rocket launcher. You can guess where things go from there. It’s an awesomely memorable video.

Gadgets : Aqua Headphone Amplifier

Gadgets : Aqua Headphone Amplifier

Any audiophile will snub the idea of using the standard earbuds that come with most smartphones nowadays. Simply put, those headphones just don’t sound up to par. But what if they’re first sent through a small amplifier before the sound gets to your ears? That’s the idea behind Aqua, the world’s lightest headphone amplifier.

This amplifier claims to bring a high-end headphone level of sound quality to your basic earbuds, giving your listening experience a significant quality boost. The device simply plugs into your Android’s MicroUSB port (or your iOS’s Lightning port), and then your headphones plug into the device. The device is incredibly light, too. It’s built out of aluminum, and not cheap plastic. Luckily, it looks as good as it sounds. The amplifier is currently being funded on Kickstarter, and you can pick one up for $59.

News : Lenny Kravitz Addresses Wardrobe Malfunction Incident

News : Lenny Kravitz Addresses Wardrobe Malfunction Incident

Lenny Kravitz has addressed 'Penis Gate' via a text convo with Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler.

The 51-year-old musician accidentally flashed his penis to a crowd of people at his concert in Stockholm on Monday night after the Rick Owens black leather outfit he donned suffered a wardrobe malfunction.

An image of his family jewels went viral on Tuesday, leading some fans to go red in the cheeks after setting their sights on his goods.

Lenny made light of the entire situation by sharing a screenshot of his text conversation with fellow rock and roll star Steven via Twitter.

The image captured a message Steven sent to Lenny which reads: 'Dude. No underwear and pierced. F*** me.. You never showed me that sh*t (sic)'.

Lenny wrote '#penisgate' in the tweet attached to the pic of the shocked text Steven messaged him.

Lenny is the father of 26-year-old Mad Max: Fury Road actress Zoë Kravitz.

Although she loves her dad, the star has previously admitted his outfits once incited complete dread in her.

"My dad came to pick me up from school once in a sports car wearing a mesh see-through shirt and leather pants," Zoë cringed to British newspaper Metro. "I remember all the high-schoolers just swarming to the car park and I just crawled under a rock, because at that age all you want is to fit in. So yeah, that was embarrassing at the time."

Lenny is currently performing shows in North America and Europe in promotion of his 2014 album Strut.

Videos : Wonder Girls : I Feel You

Videos : Wonder Girls : I Feel You

Earlier this month, super-popular K-pop group Wonder Girls released new teaser pictures of their comeback. Given the fact they are now a four-member band, the new album was titled REBOOT. Needless to say, the new teaser pictures hyped up life-long fans of Wonder Girls, who’ve been waiting for almost three years to see new material come from them.

However, there was one underlying fear said fans had about Wonder Girls and that is how they would function as a band. Since their debut, they’ve always performed as a group. Can they truly stand out from their biggest rivals, Girls’ Generation, as something new? Fortunately, we will now know the answer as Wonder Girls released their newest music video, a teaser for their album REBOOT titled “I Feel You.”

According to AllKpop, the new song “I Feel You” is written by J.Y. Park (Park Jin Young) and is a freestyle song that combines synth instruments with flash. The dance moves have been toned down a bit because the girls will be playing their instruments at the same time with Yenny on the Piano, Yubin on drums, Sunmi on bass, and Lim on guitar.

Some Wonder Girls fans, especially the older ones, somewhat felt nostalgia because the song had the sound of the 80s. I myself felt as if I were listening to a Taylor Dayne or Madonna track. The thing is, that is what Wonder Girls is aiming for, as reported by KpopStarz. “I Feel You,” along with all the other tracks, will reflect Wonder Girls’ own interpretation of 80s music. This will surely be a different direction for any K-pop group since everyone else is focusing on trap music (Big Bang) or group tracks (EXO, Girls’ Generation).

Wonder Girls’ REBOOT is officially out right now since it released on August 3, 2015 at 12 a.m. KST. It is not mentioned if the album is available internationally just as yet but if so, will most likely be on iTunes.

Pearls : Raven Symone

"I believe you should be comfortable in your skin no matter what you go through - emotionally or whatever - as long as you're healthy."

Who is Raven Symone?
Famed actress and singer Raven-Symoné Christina Pearman was born on December 10, 1985, in Atlanta, Georgia. Raven-Symoné got her start in the entertainment industry when she was just 2 years old, after making appearances in advertisements for popular brands such as Jell-O and Cool Whip, in addition to getting signed as a miniature model with Ford.

Raven-Symoné continued down the path to stardom. After unsuccessfully auditioning for a role in the 1990 film Ghost Dad (she didn't get the part because producers thought she was too young), the film's star, legendary comedian Bill Cosby, cast the young actress in his hit television series, The Cosby Show (1984-92); she played Olivia Kendall, the step-granddaughter of Dr. Cliff Huxtable (played by Cosby), on the show from 1989 to 1992, appearing in 64 episodes. Raven-Symoné's on-screen charm appealed to audiences, and her Cosby performance led to another sitcom role in 1993: America continued to watch Raven-Symoné grow up on camera as Nicole Lee on Hangin' With Mr. Cooper.

In addition to acting and modeling, Raven-Symoné embarked on a music career during her childhood, becoming the youngest artist to sign with MCA Records in 1993. That same year, she released her debut album, Here's to New Dreams. Despite the backing power of hip-hop artist Missy Elliott, who worked with Raven-Symoné to produce the young singer's first album, Here's to New Dreams flopped and MCA Records, in turn, dropped Raven-Symoné from their label. She would not return to her music career until several years later, after entering the next phase of her life in the spotlight as a Disney star.

After a few small parts, including playing Stymie's girlfriend in The Little Rascals (1994), her theatrical film debut; and Charisse Dolittle in 1998's Dr. Dolittle, Raven-Symoné became a major asset to the Disney brand. After appearing in yet another supporting role in the Disney Channel movie Zeon: Girl of the 21st Century (1999), the network, impressed with her performance in the film, asked Raven-Symoné to audition for the lead role in a new Disney series. After blowing producers away during her audition, Raven-Symoné was promptly cast as the star of That's So Raven (originally entitled Absolutely Psychic).

Raven-Symoné's time on That's So Raven marked the beginning of her career as a highly regarded performer. The show premiered to rave reviews and high ratings in 2003—setting the tone for other Disney stars who used the network as a launching pad for their careers, including Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez—and had garnered several honors, including two Emmy Award nominations, by the time it ended in 2007. Additionally, That's So Raven was the network's first original series to reach 100 episodes.

Raven-Symoné worked on other projects with Disney while That's So Raven ran its course. She played a supporting role in the Disney film The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (2004) alongside actress Anne Hathaway, and starred in the made-for-TV films The Cheetah Girls (2003) and The Cheetah Girls 2 (2006), among other parts. Her work as one-fourth of the all-girl group the Cheetah Girls revived Raven-Symoné's music career; she signed a recording contract with Hollywood Records, owned by Disney. Though Raven-Symoné's R&B-infused 2004 album, This Is My Time, greatly surpassed her debut studio release, it failed to achieve much critical or commercial acclaim, peaking at No. 51 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Following the finalé of That's So Raven in 2007, Raven-Symoné's acting career began to slow down. In 2008, she starred with Martin Lawrence in College Road Trip, which premiered at No. 2 at the box office, and—keeping her family friendly image intact—began doing voiceover work for Disney's Tinker Bell video series.

In 2011, Raven-Symoné appeared in her most mature TV role yet, starring as Georgia Chamberlain on the series State of Georgia. Though the show looked promising for the young actress, it was canceled after only one season. Raven-Symoné went on to make a dramatic change in her career, transitioning from the screen to the stage. She made her Broadway debut as Deloris Van Cartier—a part originally played by Whoopi Goldberg—in the 2013 stage adaptation of Sister Act.

Raven-Symoné's personal life has remained out of the public eye for years, though the actress has spent the majority of her life in front of the camera. When The National Enquirer reported that Raven-Symoné had moved in with openly gay model AzMarie Livingston, the actress addressed the rumors on her Twitter page, writing: "I'm living my PERSONAL life the way I'm happiest. I'm not one, in my 25 year career to disclose who I'm dating. and I shall not start now. My sexual orientation is mine, and the person I'm datings (sic) to know. I'm not one for a public display of my life."

Raven-Symoné made headlines for her personal life once again in 2013, when, after the Supreme Court's decision to overturn the Defense of Marriage Act was announced, she tweeted: "I can finally get married! Yay government! So proud of you." Afterward, she released a public statement to E! News, saying, "I am very happy that gay marriage is opening up around the country and is being accepted. I was excited to hear today that more states legalized gay marriage. I, however, am not currently getting married, but it is great to know I can now, should I wish to."

Gadgets : Nintendo Smart Boy Concept

Gadgets : Nintendo Smart Boy Concept

The talented Pierre Cerveau became an internet sensation with his 1984 iPhone concept earlier this year, and now the designer’s back with yet another ingenious concept for video gamers – the Nintendo Smart Boy Smartphone.

Dubbed “the smartphone Nintendo should make,” this thing is sure to get plenty of attention. The concept sees a modern touchscreen phone that fuses design elements with the classic Gameboy of yesteryear. The phone features a 13MP 3D camera to capture high quality shots, is equipped with a power-saving 8-bit model and even links up with a Game Bat controller to turn this thing into a full-fledged Nintendo DS. While it is just a concept phone, the details found on the Smart Boy are pretty incredible. We’re hoping someone at Nintendo is paying attention to this concept.

Videos : The Weeknd : Can’t Feel My Face

Videos : The Weeknd : Can’t Feel My Face

“Can’t Feel My Face” is the Weeknd’s biggest hit ever, narrowly missing #1 for two straight weeks and enjoying the Tom Cruise treatment on Fallon last night. Abel Tesfaye first performed the song at the Apple Music launch event last month, and today he’s used Apple’s Connect service to debut the video, directed by rising genius Grant Singer. It begins as a fairly straightforward performance clip, with Tesfaye strutting his stuff on a nightclub stage in front of a bright blue curtain. Eventually, he catches fire, and an audience-wide dance party erupts along with the flames. It gives new meaning to the word “lit.” Watch below.

Articles : A Total Recap Of The Drake Vs. Meek Mill Beef

Articles : A Total Recap Of The Drake Vs. Meek Mill Beef

In case you haven’t logged on to any social media sites in the last week-plus, back on June 21, Philly’s Meek Mill unleashed a Twitter tantrum, accusing his former pal Drake of employing the services of a ghostwriter on his rap songs—including their recent collaboration “R.I.C.O.” off Meek’s album Dreams Worth More Than Money.

Meek went Twitter-crazy because it seems he was upset that Drake hadn’t promoted their song (or Meek’s album) to his 25.4 million Twitter followers. But it struck those who’ve monitored their relationship over the years as particularly odd, since Meek wouldn’t be where he is without Drizzy, who let a then-unknown Meek open for him on his 2012 “Club Paradise” tour, guested on Meek’s first single, “Amen,” and even donated $75,000 to Meek’s former high school in Philly to build a recording studio back in 2013.

Anyways, Meek’s allegations sent the rap world into a tizzy, with everyone from Rick Ross to Chris Brown to Azealia Banks weighing in on the beef. DJ Funkmaster Flex, ever the opportunist, butted into the fray, releasing a series of “reference tracks” composed by Drake collaborator Quentin Miller—evidence, it seems, that Drake used a ghostwriter on “R.I.C.O.” and a few other tracks. Miller, however, denied being Drake’s ghostwriter, penning an Essay on his Tumblr about how grateful he was when Drizzy plucked him from obscurity—he was working in a bakery—to write some songs with him, saying, “I am not and never will be a ‘ghostwriter’ for drake. Im [sic] proud to say that we’ve collaborated .. but i could never take credit for anything other than the few songs we worked on together.”

After the tweetstorm, Meek was forced to apologize to Nicki onstage—again, he’s currently one of the opening acts on her “Pinkprint Tour”—saying, “I want to give a special apology/shout-out to Nicki Minaj for my crazy ass goin’ crazy on Twitter.”

Then things began to heat up between Drizzy and Meek, with Drizzy releasing a pair of diss tracks aimed at Mr. Minaj—“Charged Up” and “Back to Back.” The latter was particularly brutal, containing several nods to Meek riding his far more famous girlfriend’s coattails: “Is that a world tour, or your girl’s tour?” Drake raps on the track, adding, “And shout to all my boss bitches wifin’ niggas!”

The song went very viral, collecting over 14 million listens at time of writing, and spawning a series of hilarious memes of Drake clowning Meek under the Twitter hashtag #BackToBack:

Late Thursday night after a good haul's worth of memes and instagram Kermit jokes, after a week in the lab, Meek finally released his rebuttal, “Wanna Know,” which the Internet greeted with a collective shrug.

Guess he had to take the L back to Philly, cept for the fact that he's getting roasted there, too.

At least he still has Nicki, right? RIGHT?

Singles : PARTYNEXTDOOR : Kehlani's Freestyle

PARTYNEXTDOOR puts his feelings on record in the very candid track “Kehlani’s Freestyle,” named after his rumored girlfriend, R&B singer Kehlani. “I can’t say I do better, no, no, no, but I act like I know better,” he sings on the bedroom banger. PND continues to get sensual (“I’ll kiss whatever but I can’t promise I’ll do better”) and raunchy (“F— me, I know you savage”) on the track.

The singer also isn’t shy about telling her the hard truth. “I’m not romantic, I’m not with the antics,” the OVO signee coos.

This isn’t the first time the crooner has written a song inspired by Kehlani. “Girl from Oakland” is a track many PND supporters believe was written for her considering that her hometown.

The freestyle comes on the heels of PARTYNEXTDOOR’s “No Feelings” featuring Travi$ Scott. Kehlani just released the visuals for “The Way,” which stars Chance the Rapper. The You Should Be Here creator shares some flirtatious moves with the Chicago rapper.

Cars : Startech Sixty8 Land Rover Defender

Cars : Startech Sixty8 Land Rover Defender

Last year, Land Rover announced plans to commemorate the end of the Defender’s long production run with three Final Edition models called Autobiography, Heritage, and Adventure, respectively. German tuner Startech also wants to pay homage to the Defender, and it has introduced a special edition model that’s billed as a final farewell to the iconic off-roader.

The custom Defender is called Sixty8, a number chosen because the very first Land Rover Series was introduced 68 years ago. It gets Startech’s 3.1 vintage design appearance package, which adds a new grille whose design is inspired by the one found on the Series 3 that was built from 1974 to 1983. The Sixty8 also gets a beefy skid plate up front, a two-tone black and gray paint job, 18-inch alloy wheels that look like period-correct steel wheels, and model-specific emblems all around.

Startech has done its best to mask the Defender’s purely utilitarian roots by sprucing up the cockpit with quilted leather upholstery on the seats and on the door panels, Alcantara on the headliner, sport seats, a new three-spoke steering wheel, and metal pedal caps. An Alpine infotainment system brings the Defender into the modern era with 3D navigation, a DVD player, a rear-view camera, Bluetooth connectivity, and an SD card slot.

The modifications don’t extend to the engine bay, meaning the Sixty8 is powered by a stock Defender-sourced 2.2-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel engine that makes 120 horsepower and a generous 360 foot-pounds of torque. The oil-burner spins all four wheels via a six-speed manual transmission and a permanent all-wheel drive system.

And as its name further implies, production of the Sixty8 will be limited to just 68 examples. On sale now worldwide, Startech’s homage to the Land Rover Defender carries a base price of €67,990 (about $75,000), while opting for the seven-seater model bumps the price tag up to €69,000 (roughly $76,300).

Gadgets : Dell Latitude 12 Rugged Tablet

Modern technology and the unpredictability of the great outdoors go together like the Starks and sharp things. Just pulling out your iPhone when it’s drizzling is enough to fire up some anxiety. The latest tablet from Dell, however, likes to run toward the flames. The first tablet in the company’s Rugged series, the Latitude 12 is designed to handle bad weather, mud and dust, extreme temps, and even significant drops. While the aim here is assisting military and industrial workers, clearly this is the tablet ideal for the outdoorsman. The Latitude 12 Rugged Tablet is packed with a 11.6-inch screen that’s visible in sunlight, 512GB of storage, and it runs Windows. While it’s not cheap, we wouldn’t recommend an iPad for your next epic excursion.

Purchase here.
