News : Chance The Rapper Announces "Family Matters" Tour

Chance The Rapper is having a very busy year. After releasing the album Surf with his band Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment, he’s still working on his next solo album, acting in a murder mystery movie and has an album with Lil B on the way. Bowers & Wilkins was one of the last audio firms to adopt Bluetooth for its portable speakers, preferring technologies like AirPlay for stability and quality of wireless transmission. But that was before Bluetooth aptX came along and the company released the excellent T7 speaker, which retained its trademark audiophile quality approach to sound while remaining portable and, most importantly, wire-free.

Now it has used that experience to tread further new ground in releasing its first pair of wireless headphones. And not just any cans but Bluetooth enabled versions of its P5 Series 2 on-ears that also won many plaudits at the tail end of last year.

We have been using the wired version for a while now, so when we got a chance to quickly check out the new pair we could do so knowing exactly what to listen for and how we would expect them to sound. And as far as we can tell at this early stage, there's no noticeable difference at all. Not even with our lossless tracks.

We've only listened to a few tracks so far, hence this is a preview rather than a full review - which will come when we've had more time with the cans - but as they are now on sale on Bowers & Wilkins own website, we wanted to at least give our first impressions.

Aesthetically and in the materials used they are nigh-on identical to the wired pair, save for a little extra depth in the earpieces to add the extra tech required. It doesn't affect the design lines though and like the P5 Series 2 headphones, these are tasty to look at. They also weigh just 213g. The soft leather and aluminium build helps and they are very comfortable, especially so without a cable to tie you to anything.

Like on the Bowers & Wilkins T7 portable speaker, the quoted battery life is impressive - conservatively estimated at 17 hours of playback at 75 per cent volume.

The drive units inside each earpiece are 40mm full range drivers, frequency range of 10Hz to 20kHz, and with an impedance of 22ohms. With Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity (using the aptX codec) they will hook up to just about every smartphone or tablet, but we get the feeling they are best suited to an iPhone thanks to the volume and play/pause buttons also doubling as controls to fire up Siri. However, they will work with Android, for example, to answer calls and the like as well.

There are two tiny microphones built-in. The one at the front is used for voice calling (or Siri, for iOS users) and the rear-placed mic is used by the tech inside to rebalance ambient noise to help calls sound better for both parties.

They are charged through a Micro USB port and should you run out of battery life on your travels, you can remove one of the cups to reveal a cable port to turn them into wired headphones until you get back to a power point.

Initially available through Bowers & Wilkins' website for £329.99, the P5 Wireless headphones will also roll out to other retailers over the coming weeks. And on first impressions, it looks like the British audio company's first foray into the world of wire-free cans was well worth the wait.

News : Snoop Dogg Arrested In Sweden, Calls Out "Racial Profiling

With singles like “Smoke the Weed,” Snoop Dogg was inevitably going to be pulled over by the cops. But we never expected the veteran rapper would get arrested in Sweden! Yet somehow, the hip hop star was having “Ain’t No Fun” in a Swedish jail this weekend.

After performing for fans in Uppsala, Sweden, Snoop was pulled over for what he originally says was an unknown reason (authorities would later explain they believed he was driving under the influence of narcotics). In one of a series of Instagram videos he says, “We’re getting sweated by the police… they sweating us right now for nothing!” In the background you can hear Snoop’s entourage repeatedly ask what exactly they have that’s worth arresting them for, but no one answers.

Snoop is clearly annoyed that he’s done “nothing” and was brought down to a police station to “pee in a cup.” The drug test proved he was clean, as he repeatedly said he was. That’s why he believes he was “profiled, racially profiled.”

“I’ll never be back in this country,” he tells fans in the video. “Y’all can thank y’all police chief and all the people [who] run y’all police department.” We hope he doesn’t keep such strict rules if he ever gets pulled over stateside!

However, other people think it's a "celebrity profiling" incident, and not a racially charged occurrence. According to Billboard Idol Judge Alexander Bard has stated it's not uncommon for law enforcement officers to pull over celebrities hoping to catch them doing what they're stereotyped to do. The Swedish appear to be losing their "war on Drugs" and the cops are sorely fishing for something. A couple of years ago Justin Bieber's tour bus was pulled over for similar lack of reason to Snoop's. The Grammys were also raided, with multiple people having to pee in cups after being inspected without reasonable cause for suspicion other than the fact that a lot of them were famous or associated with famous people.

Misfit reveals "Flash Link", a wearable fitness-tracking device that comes with a built-in button that interacts with your smart devices. Like the Misfit Shine, this new Misfit Flash Link can track your movements as it's attached to your body with any number of accessories - as a watch, as a necklace, or attached to your belt-loop. This new hardware also acts as a do-anything button that, when pressed, is able to do a wide array of tasks on your smartphone or tablet.

Misfit Flash is also being given a breath of new life this week as the company releases a new piece of software called Misfit Link. This is is the app part of Misfit Flash Link and an update to Misfit Flash that allows you to use the wearable device as a do-anything button. It's like IFTTT, only - actually, it's exactly like IFTTT, because Misfit is integrating their software in with IFTTT in the near future. For now, the button press will work with your camera, Spotify, Pandora, and - again, in the future - work with Logitech Harmony devices.

The Android version of Misfit Link will be released soon. The iOS version should be out by the end of the week.

Slim Shady visited Sway’s Shade 45 segment earlier today, determined to blast bars at listeners ears and continue jabbing at those currently basking in pop culture relevance. The rapper let lose an eight-minute, on-air freestyle that includes plenty of memorable lines as well as some regrettable ones that belong in the past. Caitlyn Jenner does not escape his wrath:

Cars : Lexus Australia & M&C Saatchi’s RC-F Coupe

There's nothing like putting your foot down in a powerful car to raise your heart-rate – and a new Lexus concept car can demonstrate exactly that. Working with M&C Saatchi, Lexus Australia has rigged up a one-off RC F V8 coupe so that its paintwork flashes in time with the heartbeat of a person inside.

When glowing, the paintwork of the RC F looks not dissimilar to that of the glow-in-the-dark Nissan Leaf we featured earlier this year. Whereas the Nissan uses paint that absorbs UV light to make it glow, however, the Lexus uses paint that reacts to electricity.

To begin, the car was painted with electroluminescent paint. A heart-rate monitor was then installed, to which the driver or a passenger could be hooked up. The monitor is, in turn, connected to a bespoke electrical system. It processes the data and sends electrical charges corresponding to the wearer's heartbeat, to the car's body panels.

According to Lumilor, which develops the paint, the process responsible for the electroluminescence is known as radiative recombination (or "spontaneous emission"). This sees phosphorescent substances emit photons in response to alternating electrical current. An isolation coat is applied to the surface of the car to prevent a short circuit, before additional coatings are applied that define the area bounding the panel and the panels' shapes. Finally, wires are connected as a means of applying current.

The results are striking in terms of the car's looks, with each electrical pulse lighting up the exterior panels. We can expect the panels to flash more rapidly the faster and more aggressively the car is driven.

Although visually exciting, Lexus Australia has suggested little in the way of practical use for this tech. In a press release, the firm says it is simply a "demonstration of advanced technology and the connection between man and machine."

News : Madonna's Picasso Comparison: "Creativity Doesn't Have An Expiration Date"

Madonna thinks artists deep into their careers should stop if they don't have anything more to say. But at 56, the singer says she still has things to talk about, and in short, she feels like Pablo Picasso.

"I like to compare myself to other kinds of artists like Picasso. He kept painting and painting until the day he died. Why? Because I guess he felt inspired to do so," she said. "Life inspired him, so he had to keep expressing himself, and that's how I feel."

Madonna released her self-titled debut album in 1983, and her latest album, Rebel Heart, earlier this year. She said the key to sticking around is her continual desire to inspire others.

"I don't think there's a time, a date, an expiration date for being creative," she said. "I think you go until you don't have any more to say."

The pop icon will launch her Rebel Heart Tour on Sept. 9 in Montreal. The tour includes more than 60 shows across North America, Europe, Australia and Asia.

"The theme I really truly explore in this show more than anything is love and romance," she said in a phone interview from her home in New York City last week. "I want people to walk out like they're feeling inspired and like they've seen something they've never seen before (and) felt something they've never felt before."

Comedian Amy Schumer, whose new movie Trainwreck opened impressively at No. 2 with $30.2 million last weekend, will open for three Madonna shows in New York.

"She's a role model for women, and I am too, and I think it's a good match," said Madonna, who added that the idea to bring Schumer on board came from the singer's management team. "I love her and ... I just thought, `That's interesting.' (I'll) try something new and different rather than the usual run-of-the-mill - have a band, have a DJ. It's definitely a new thing. I hope it works - fingers crossed."

Madonna says picking the set list for her upcoming tour has been hard, mainly because she wants to sing her newest songs but also satisfy her longtime, die-hard fans.

"I realize I have 32 years of other songs, so I have to pick and choose. I sit there for weeks and weeks and weeks trying to figure out which of my old catalog I want to do," she said. "It's a puzzle that we have to put together `cause thematically the songs - the old and the new - they have to go together; sonically they have to go together."

She's even picky about the costumes onstage.

"What people wear, from their footwear to the buttons on their jacket, is all very important to me," she said.

Sugar coated but entirely urgent, the production seems to benefit from maturity, to make the most of experience. And Lauren's vocals are, as ever, heavenly.

For most of us, the word “scooter” still probably conjures up youthful toys that we rode into the ground over summer break. But Ninebot One is threatening to infuse the word with more cool clout than we ever could’ve guessed.

This is a battery-powered, self-balancing, one-wheeled transportation device that looks like it came out of a George Lucas film (just not American Graffiti). But no, it comes from a Beijing-based company that has used a magnesium alloy frame and non-slip pedals to create something unique. So how fast can it go? Like other Type 1s, it uses a series of rotating discs to indicate seconds, minutes, hours, and days, and features no crown, instead letting you set the watch by turning the back. But this particular model arrives in a somewhat unfinished state, with a titanium case still showing milling marks, a raw sandblasted dial, numerals and markers that lack the normal SuperLuminova treatment and thus offer greater depth, and an untreated leather strap that will develop its own look over time. News : GrooveShark Co-founder Found Dead At 28, Cause Unknown

Josh Greenberg, the 28-year-old co-founder and CTO of the web-based music-streaming service Grooveshark, has reportedly died of unknown causes.

News of Greenberg’s passing comes via the Gainesville Police department Twitter account:

This news comes just months after Grooveshark was shut down following a settlement in legal battles against record industry giants UMG, Sony Music Entertainment, and Warner Music Group.

The cause of death is currently unknown; Gainesville Police confirm that there is no evidence of foul play or suicide. Greenberg’s mother told the Gainsville Sun that Josh had no known health problems, and that he was “excited about new potential things.”

In a eulogy to his friend, Life360’s Ben Erez writes:

I’m sad and shocked but I can’t stop imagining what Josh would say.

Probably something very zen like “appreciate me for who I was, mourn my loss, and get back to enjoying life. It’s too short to not.

Here’s to Josh Greenberg, true leader, a stand up guy, and one of my favorite people ever. May he rest in peace.”

If you need any more convincing, just watch the 29-year-old’s breathtaking “Dance Like We’re Making Love” video (above).

CiCi’s latest effort plays like an extended — and extremely classy — thirst trap. While many a pop star has stripped off in the name of YouTube views, Ciara has mastered the art of the tease. She’s provocative without being crass, confronting without being explicit. The result is a genuinely sexy experience that finds our girl doing eye-popping water aerobics, modeling lingerie and even indulging in a little ballroom dancing. It’s elegant, stylish and gives me a whole new appreciation for “Dance Like We’re Making Love,” which was originally one of my least favorite tracks on the album.

These headphones are just a concept idea- as of now- but it wouldn't shock anyone if Adidas really went all-in with the Yeezy Boost hype. 'Deadstock' Adidas Yeezy Boost headphones would be selling on eBay for thousands upon thousands of dollars.

Speaking of Yeezy Boost hype, an all-black colorway of the Yeezy 350 Boost Low is scheduled to hit retailers in October, alongside the Yeezy 950 Boot. A blacked out Yeezy 750 Boost is also in the works, although a release date hasn't been announced just yet.

“The song has a whole new meaning to it now,” singer Aino Jawo explained in a statement. “Looking back and reflecting on how far we’ve come since those early days when we were broke and didn’t have a clue what we were doing or where we were going!” (via Pitchfork)

News : Cash Money Records Suing TIDAL For $50M Over Free Weezy Album

Fans of Lil Wayne are going through some excruciating pain this year, as the battles over money, music, and life itself seem to keep getting pettier and darker every passing week. Last night the news broke that Wayne’s recent tour bus shooting might have been masterminded by Cash Money CEO and former Wayne mentor Birdman and Wayne-influenced rap prodigy Young Thug. Two of his formerly closest friends might’ve been involved with a plot to have Lil Wayne killed? What the fuck? There’s label wars, there’s broken friendships, and then there’s this. But the malice of Birdman doesn’t stop there.

TMZ reports that Birdman is now going after Jay Z, claiming that Tidal’s exclusive streaming of The Free Weezy Album is illegal and suing for $50 million. Tidal says that Cash Money doesn’t have exclusivity rights to Wayne and his music and that Wayne gave Tidal a right to stream his music in exchange for ownership in the company. Cash Money calls the decision “a desperate and illegal attempt to save their struggling streaming service,” and counters that Wayne doesn’t have the right to license his music elsewhere. Neither party mentions how Tha Carter V, an album Wayne practically begged Cash Money to release yet remains in the label’s vault, plays into all this.

Cash Money also got in a few parting shots about the quality of FWA, claiming its lukewarm critical reception could hurt their chances at releasing other music from Wayne. As if their malicious bitterness will have no impact on consumers? This soap opera level politics is the last thing fans of Wayne want; what’s a bigger incentive to boycott an album than watching a company hold music hostage and plot to kill your favorite rapper? This lawsuit may end being up being the arena Birdman finally fails in, though; if we know anything by now, it’s that Jay Z knows how to be about his business. It’s hard not to see this as much more than a question of artist’s rights versus corporations. At this point, it feels more like a battle of good versus evil. Too bad justice is blind; let’s keep hoping the law bails Wayne out.

News : FL Studio Launches Alpha On Apple Products

About three months ago, desktop software moguls Image Line released FL Studio 12, the latest installment of the DAW formerly known as Fruity Loops. Although this update integrated practical features such as multi-tech support and a bit-size classifier for plugins, it failed to reveal the Mac support that Image Line had promised.

Now Apple users can rest at ease, as FL Studio for Mac has just entered its alpha phase. The popular production program is testing for an OS X interface, but obviously has a few weak links in the sound design chain. There’s currently no component for VST plugins – that is, outside plugins such as Massive and Sylenth – along with the absence of MIDI input and output.

Regardless, Mac users should rejoice as Image Line has finally made good on their long-awaited promise. You can view all its current features here, and register to download the FL Studio alpha here

Gadgets : Reserve Strap For Apple Watch

Following a number of teases for its third-party Apple Watch strap with a built-in battery pack, Reserve Strap, bound to be one of the first battery straps for Apple Watch, is promising an additional 30 hours of battery life for Apple Watch users as it announces plans to ship in November.

In an update on its website, the company announced that the final design for Reserve Strap will offer “more than 30 hours of additional usage,” or 2.7x or 167% of the Apple Watch’s built-in battery.

One of the biggest complaints regarding Apple Watch at launch was the necessity of charging once a day for most users. Reserve Strap will bump that up to once every three days or so, and even up to a week for some users that are using the device less frequently.

In addition to being one of the first battery straps for Apple Watch, the product will be one of the first to tap into the device’s not-so-secret hidden port, opposed to using Apple’s own magnetic, inductive charging solution. The company previously noted that using the port will allow for faster charging while allowing them to avoid interference with sensors on the back of the watch in their design.

The Reserve Strap will come in three colors — white, grey, and black— and will be available for both the 38mm and 42mm Apple Watches with the same specs for both in terms of additional battery life time. It will also be “as resistant to water as Apple Watch,” addressing one of the concerns several readers mentioned when we first told you about Reserve Strap. The company will send a micro USB cable for charging the strap (charging won’t require disconnecting the strap from Apple Watch), as well as a special tool for removing the door on the hidden port that Reserve Strap connects to for charging.
