News : Kylie Minogue Kicks Off With A Tribute

News : Kylie Minogue Kicks Off With A Tribute

Kylie Minogue kicked off her Kiss Me Once tour in Liverpool last night and the singer used the opportunity to pay tribute to her ex boyfriend Michael Hutchence, who was tragically found dead in a Sydney hotel in 1997, aged 37.

Kylie, who hits London with the tour next week, belted out INXS' Need You Tonight, as she performed at the ECHO arena in the city, serenading the audience with the track that was made famous by the late Aussie rocker. The Can't Get You Out Of My Head hitmaker showed off her amazing physique, once again, as she made her way through some of her greatest hits, but the tribute to Michael really stood out amongst the rest, especially since she had opened up about her ex in an emotional interview a couple of months ago.

After admitting that she missed him, she previously told the 60 Minutes Show: “I had never met anyone like that I was probably not very cool then and he was uber-cool and somehow we met in the middle. I love seeing pictures of then because he was so proud.” She then added of what she missed about Michael: “Many things, weird things. We saw the world and travelled and I had so many firsts with him. It was great."

“He had this all encompassing love of life and if you have such a strong love and they are not there, its different to when you have a strong love and the possibility of seeing them again to talk and share experienced with," Kylie then added. “I miss him just as much as anyone who was fortunate enough to spend time with him.”

Video : Hilary Duff : All About You

Video : Hilary Duff : All About You

When Hilary Duff says she’s not all about herself but rather “all about you” in her appropriately titled song “All About You,” what she means is simple: If she sees a cute guy in a restaurant, she’s going to take his picture when he’s not looking and then proceed to tell all of her dancer friends about him before eventually tracking him down at some sort of party. Yes, Hilary Duff has dancer friends.

In her new music video for “All About You,” Duff is successful in finding “random cute guy at restaurant that is probably going to be really creeped out when he finds out you took his picture without him knowing.” But hey, at least she’s up front about being all about him, right?

There’s still no word on when Joey Bada$$’s debut studio album will come out, though he told MTV News last week that the album was now officially done. He’s about to embark on a worldwide tour and released a new track last night to celebrate the occasion. “Get Paid,” produced by DJ Relly Rell, follows “Big Dusty,” the only song we’ve heard from the new album. On this new one he continues to refine the no-nonsense retro production that has worked well for him so far.

"Everybody has something to prove each year. Everybody has a responsibility in this game. Even the batboy." - Joel Ortiz

Who Is Joel Ortiz?
Joell Ortiz (born July 6, 1980) is an American rapper from Brooklyn, New York, and a member of the group Slaughterhouse.

Joell Ortiz was born to Puerto Rican parents in Brooklyn,New York. Ortiz grew up in the Cooper Park Houses in the east williamsburg section of Brooklyn, New York, formerly signed to Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment record label. He was featured in the Unsigned Hype column of the March 2004 issue of The Source Magazine and was also selected as Chairman's Choice in XXL Magazine. During the same time Joell also went on to win the 2004 EA Sports Battle which earned his song Mean Business a spot on the NBA Live 2005 soundtrack. Joell has since collaborated with KRS-One and Kool G. Rap. Joell released his street album called "The Brick: Bodega Chronicles" April 24, 2007, on Koch Records. The album was recorded while Joell was trying to get signed and going through some tough times personally. The Brick features productions from Showbiz, The Alchemist, Domingo, Ho Chi from Killahertz Productions, Lil' Fame of M.O.P., Novel, and Moss, among others. Guest spots include Big Daddy Kane, Styles P, Big Noyd, M.O.P, Akon, Immortal Technique, Grafh, Ras Kass, Stimuli, and Novel. News : Rah Digga Tears Into Iggy Azalea

First Nicki Minaj, now Rah Digga has beef with Iggy Azalea.

Digga, 39, appeared on ThisIs50 on Tuesday and said, “Iggy Azalea, I can’t really get into her. Because it’s just not real to me. There is a white girl from Australia that spits in an Australian accent, and her name is Chelsea Jane. That I can get into. Teach me Australian hip hop culture. Don’t come to America and try to convince me that you’re gangasta, boo. We’re not going to believe you if you’re trying to convince us that you’re out here trap shooting.”

She went to say that “too many passes” are given out in hip hop and it’s not wrong to call out artists who don’t write their own lyrics. “When did that become a crime in hip-hop?” she asked.

Azaela, 24, who has been plagued by sex tape rumors, didn’t take too well to Digga’s unflattering words. In fact, she was more bothered that the criticism came from another woman.

Gear : Bags : Cargo Works Shoulder Sling

Ever try to throw a briefcase over your shoulder as you rush out the door? Yes, it looks as ridiculous as it sounds. And heads up if anyone’s behind you.

Sometimes you just want a simple little sack that can easily melt into your body as you make your way through the subway or down a narrow cobblestone street. The Utility Shoulder Sling from Cargo Works seems like a perfect little bag for the guy on the go, what with its numerous zipper pockets, straps that can be attached to either side for left or right carrying, and a quick release buckle that lets you sling it across your body with uncommon style and grace. The construction is quite solid too, with weatherproof fabrics, military grade buckles, and YKK zippers.

Who Is Yellow Claw?
Yellow Claw is a Dutch DJ trio from Amsterdam, Netherlands. The group consists of Bizzey (Leo Roelandschap), Jim Aasgier (Jjim Taihuttu) and Nizzle (Nils Rondhuis). Their music is a mix of wide range of genres and often incorporates elements from trap music, hip hop, dubstep, electro house and moombahton.

Yellow Claw first gained popularity in the middle of 2010, after founding and hosting the Yellow Claw Thursday night party at one of Amsterdam's most famous night clubs, the Jimmy Woo. During 2012 and 2013, they released a number of successful singles, which charted on the Dutch and Belgian national charts: "Krokobil", "Nooit meer slapen", "Thunder" and "Last Night Ever". The videos for the singles became viral, each gaining over four million views on YouTube. During that time, Yellow Claw performed at many Dutch festivals, such as DirtyDutch Festival, Sneakerz Festival, Latin Village Festival and Solar Festival.

In 2013, Yellow Claw signed to Diplo's label Mad Decent. On March 7, 2013, they released their first international EP Amsterdam Trap Music. Clubs : Spain : Barcelona : Elephant Club

Clubs : Elephant Club

After opening the club in 2005, Elephant is back with a new style and aim, to become one of the best clubs of Barcelona. Located on the top of the city, in the Pedralbes district, it has positioned itself as a place for leisure of the elite. With stunning decorations inspired by India, filled withexotic luxury, Elephant has one of the most spectacular terraces in Barcelona.  It has three different areas inside the club: Chill out, the Tower and Jaima’s Sala.  All this is built in an area with an exotic design, surrounded by architectural jewels such as the Güell stables and parts of Gaudi’s art. We are certain that you will love this mix of different cultures.

Elephant Club Review By Ryan Styler
Located in Barcelona’s upscale Pedralbes, Elephant Club is located within a glamorous 20s mansion house with crisp white paint and lush landscaping that looks like it’s still very much the private residence. That is until 11pm when the space morphs into one of the city’s poshest nightclubs with a multi-theme supper club and dance party that attracts local elite and Spanish celebrities. Elephant Club is arranged within several salas, or private rooms, named Jaima or Ganesh and La Torre featuring an Ibiza meets Maharishi vibe of gilded elephants and goddess statuary that at times feel more like a Hindu temple than be-seen Barcelona dance club. During warmer months, a tented outdoor area is the place to be for VIP service and mid-summer soirées that lure one-name DJs before their weekend club residencies at Space or Privilege on Ibiza

Gear : Glasses : ETQ Eyewear

ETQ Amsterdam is actually the label we came across two seasons ago -it was love at first sight. And they continue to innovate in the realm of minimal sneakers. We must even admit, they have become our personal favourites. By the way, do note that their latest collection is online since August 15. But the thing is, that they have also successfully plunged into the competitive world of eyewear.

It’s true. ETQ Amsterdam presented their debut line of shades this past summer. And it is with great ease to say that these pieces, elegant, sharp and silently bold are instant classics. And our personal favourites for Autumn/Winter 2014 as well.

Handmade in Portugal, these acetate creations come in a variety of shapes, plays on classic round and rectangular frames. Black or tortoiseshell finishes, each pair is fitted with Dark Green tinted 100% UV protection lenses.

Get them, while you still can, mates.

Video : Austin Mahone : Secret

Video : Austin Mahone : Secret

Teen girls cry for Austin Mahone in the music video for “Secret”. The RedOne-produced 90's Backstreet Boys-inspired song is the latest single from the Texas-born pop singer’s “The Secret” EP. The video for “Secret” was supposed to premiere on VEVO tomorrow Thursday but Austin decided to move the premiere date up one day to today (Sept. 24). Why? No idea. But have a watch 'cause that's all it matters.

So a concert music video it is? Cheap, but in a way due to the 90's Backstreet Boys sound of “Secret” this “concert” video sort of works. It’s giving vintage vibes and that's what the song gives too, doesn’t it?. Shot at his recent North American tour, a scruffy Austin Mahone executes the "Secret" choreography on stage as her teen female fans scream like crazy and weep for their idol.

From what I've heard Republic Records isn’t very pleased with the commercial performance of “The Secret” EP so I doubt they let Austin work with RedOne ever again. It’s a shame because I really like the 90's pop sound of the EP songs.

Listen To : Knife Party - 'Begin Again'

Soundcloud user “_Mini_” had uploaded a preview for Knife Party’s track “Begin Again.” There is an unmistakable touch of Pendulum in this track with Rob on vocals and more melodic breakdowns than the previous song off the album “Resistance”. I would even go as far to say that this song is rather groovy, there isn’t really a drop and it’s more akin to traditional house, the synth solos are what really makes it for me and they help to create a cohesive experience.

I was a big fan of “Resistance” but I think they have outdone themselves with “Begin Again” which you can stream and download the preview of below.

Edit: The original soundcloud link was taken down but “Begin Again” can still be streamed above.

Pearls : Bono

“As a rock star, I have two instincts, I want to have fun, and I want to change the world. I have a chance to do both”. - Bono

Who Is Bono?
Paul David Hewson (born 10 May 1960), known by his stage name Bono , is an Irish singer, musician, and humanitarian best known for being the main vocalist of the Dublin-based rock band U2. Bono was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland, and attended Mount Temple Comprehensive School where he met his future wife, Alison Stewart, and the future members of U2. Bono writes almost all U2 lyrics, often using political, social, and religious themes. During their early years, Bono's lyrics contributed to U2's rebellious and spiritual tone. As the band matured, his lyrics became inspired more by personal experiences shared with members of U2.

Outside the band, he has collaborated and recorded with numerous artists, is managing director and a managing partner of Elevation Partners, and has refurbished and owns The Clarence Hotel in Dublin with The Edge. Bono is also widely known for his activism concerning Africa, for which he co-founded DATA, EDUN, the ONE Campaign and Product Red. Bars+Lounges : USA : NY : New York

About Bathtub Gin
A red light glowing inside the Stone Street Coffee Company (and the seemingly out-of-place gaggle waiting to get in) may provide a clue that there’s more than just coffee inside this tiny storefront. Behind an innocuous door, Bathtub Gin's name may conjure Prohibition-era moonshine (naturally they have a namesake copper bathtub prominently displayed in the center of the bar), but the owners wisely decided to focus their cocktail list on recipes predating the bathtub brewing decade. Try the Martinez (the precursor to the martini) made with junipero gin, dolin rouge, maraschino liqueur, bokers bitters and lemon oils or the Clover Club (gin, dry vermouth, lemon juice, egg white, raspberry liqueur, fresh raspberries), $14 each. Bar food is a modern fusion affair with menu items including truffle mushroom ricotta gnocchi, tuna tartare with taro root chips and mango salsa, and flatbread with fresh mozzarella and eggplant caponata. Weeknights offer an opportunity to sink back in one of the speakeasy’s plush, damask banquettes over a cocktail or two while weekends are more raucous, drawing twenty and thirtysomething crowds away from the nearby MePa scene with DJs spinning dance tracks. That said, late night bathtub lolling is encouraged—seven days a week.

Bathtub Gin Review By Victoria G. : New York, NY
Done and Done. This may be the first time that I have absolutely nothing negative to say!...Not only do I love speakeasies (ok, it borders on slight obsession), but I love gin...you know what else I love?...a gin-centric speakeasy with phenom food as well.

Once through the small coffeeshop (well done NYC), the vibe is very much like Raine's Law...though a bit darker and with more room to stand at the bar area in the front...in fact this was something I really appreciated about this place over Raine's and Death and Co--the ability to stand if need be and not feel like you're awkwardly in everybody's way, watching this weird throwback scene happening in front of you like a spectator--in this joint, you're very much in it to win it.

My girl and I arrived without reservation (didnt even know you could make them--so take note) and because she was planning to eat a little something, we were able to sit immediately--which was fabulous. We shimmied in between two couples and immersed ourselves in the menu. Our waitress was a doll and, another nod to the greatness of this place, was vry knowledgeable about the entire menu and was able to narrow down our options based on the flavor profiles we were seeking. We stuck with gin and I opted for the grapefruit based 'tail as well as one off the menu which was fabulous--gin, persecco, cucumbers---mmmmmmm. We also tried a few of the sweeter-sided drinks--all were perfectly balanced and really showed off the gin without being too overpowering or in your face.

I wish I hadn't made plans to have dinner elsewhere because the food was amazing--luckily, my girlie was hungry and I got to sample the truffle fries (yumm-the spiced mayo/aoli was to die) and the caprese salad was fresh and a great light option. There so many other things on the menu I was dying to try--mushroom gnocci, flatbread, hummus, greek salad....I could go on.

All in all, Bathtub is the perfect spot to while away the hours (with a date, a friend, a small group you'd like to impress perhaps), bonny and clyde style--where the vibe will have you coming and the exceptional drinks (and creative small bites) will have you staying.

Gadgets : Samsung Power Sharing Cable

Gadgets : Samsung Power Sharing Cable

Now that everyone seems to be carrying around smartwatches, Bluetooth headphones, and various other bits of electronic detritus, we need ways to keep them charged up when they inevitably die before the end of a long day. Samsung wants your Galaxy phone or tablet to be the backup battery for other stuff, like a Gear watch, via the brand new Power Sharing Cable. It's a little double-sided MicroUSB cable that allows one gadget to charge another, without any AC adapter or portable battery pack.

The cable only works with some of the latest Samsung Android-powered devices: the Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Avant, Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and 8.4, and the new Galaxy Alpha. Users will have to download the shiny new Power Sharing app, which shows the remaining charge on your primary device. Any gadget that accepts an electric charge via MicroUSB should work with the cable, including other phones or tablets, though of course charge capacity and time will be limited by the "host" phone or tablet. Samsung isn't the first manufacturer to try this, though they're certainly the biggest. Back at CES Huawei showed off the Ascend Mate II, which also has the capability to charge other devices with its huge 4050mAh battery.

It's clear that Samsung has smartwatches in mind for this feature, though I suppose you could use it to charge everything from a Bluetooth game controller to another external battery pack, if the fancy took you that way. The real question is, would buying and carrying this cable be more practical than bringing along a separate battery in the first place? After all, you can get a pretty big one for $20, and using this bump charging technique is only going to "steal" charge from your Samsung phone or tablet. Also consider the inherent loss of efficiency when sending and storing electricity in lithium ion and polymer batteries. Sending 300mAh to your watch will "cost" you at least 360mAh from your phone. The Power Sharing app will at least let you limit how much juice you send to the secondary device. If that doesn't deter you, the Power Sharing Cable is on sale now at Samsung's online store, and the app is available in the Play Store. You might start seeing the cable at other retailers as well.

Video : Pentatonix : Papaoutai f. Lindsey Stirling

Video : Pentatonix : Papaoutai f. Lindsey Stirling

In the surreal new music video from Pentatonix, the quintet covers the 2013 song, “Papaoutai” from the Belgian singer, Stromae.

The song, performed in the original French, features fellow YouTube sensation, violinist, Lindsey Stirling and stars the six performers as dolls come to live in a little boy’s bedroom. The makeup and movements mimic marionettes, or wind-up dolls. It freaked me out a little! But the song is terrific.

Check out the original video, in which the child’s father is represented by a lifeless mannequin. Reportedly, Stromae’s father was killed in the 1994 Rwandan Genocide. The title translates literally into “Father, where are you?” and is about a childhood spent without his dad.

After landing a Top Ten debut on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart with the release of his independent EP “All American” in 2012, which has sold over 100K units to date, Hoodie Allen has solidified himself as a force in the unique niche that is the pop/rap world.

The first offering from his highly-anticipated debut album "PEOPLE KEEP TALKING," “Show Me What You’re Made Of,” previews a musically evolved Hoodie Allen, while remaining genuine to his well-known sound. Pulling inspiration from the likes of Justin Timberlake’s Future Sex/Love Sound and the throwback vibes of Mark Ronson, the production and melodies on People Keep Talking showcase 14 tracks of consistently catchy flows and feel-good beats. Highlights on the album include the whimsically catchy "Movie," the anti-ex anthem "Dumb For You," the fun, yet empowering "Act My Age" and the smooth, R&B-infused, "Won't Mind."

Sound-Bar Nightclub review By Shana J. : Chicago, IL
This was my first experience at the Sound Bar, and honestly I had a blast.

My friends dragged me out after work to dinner (See my Bar Louie Review) and insisted we go afterward. I by NO means was dressed to go here so I was a bit self conscious. That should not have been a worry.

Once everyone started flowing in, the atmosphere was great!! There are two floors, but I stayed at the bottom. I drank, I danced, I drank some more.

The drinks were good and not over priced. The bartenders were nice and made sure everyone got served in a timely manner.

The music was Awesome. Sometimes in clubs they play all one type of music for too long, or cut the music short early. Not this DJ. They were on point. I don't remember their name (blame it on the ah-ah-ah-ah-alcohol lol) but I will definitely find out.

This was one of my best nights out.

Call first to find out the cover. This was the first time EVER I have not been mad to pay at cover.

Highly recommend for groups and parties.

News : Dr. Dre overtakes Diddy As Highest Earner In Hip Hop

News : Dr. Dre overtakes Diddy As Highest Earner In Hip Hop

With $620m in estimated pre-tax earnings, veteran rapper and record producer Dr Dre topped Forbes list as the highest paid hip-hop artist, ousting Sean “Diddy” Combs from the top spot.

Forbes said Dre’s estimated annual earnings for the 12 months between June 2013 and 2014 are the highest of any musician in any genre it has ever evaluated, and more than the combined takings of the other 24 names on the hip-hop list released on Tuesday.

Much of the 49-year-old’s earnings this year came thanks to the $3bn sale to Apple of the Beats high-end headphone company he founded with music executive Jimmy Iovine and other financial ventures, including cognac and vodka brands.

Combs, 44, tied for second place with Jay Z, 44, with $60m, with earnings from drinks, clothing and television deals.

Jay Z, who toured with his wife, Beyoncé, for the first time with their On the Run concerts, pulled in money from lucrative performances, his latest album and his Roc Nation entertainment empire, which assured him a place in the top five.

Drake, 27, came in fourth with $33m with takings from his album Nothing Was the Same, an endorsement deal with sportswear firm Nike and a concert tour.

Grammy-winning duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis rounded out the top five with $32m.

Forbes compiled the list by looking at income from record sales, publishing, merchandise sales, tours and endorsement deals and talking to managers, agents, lawyers and some of the artists. The earnings were calculated based on data from Pollstar, RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) and Nielsen SoundScan. Fees for agents, managers and lawyers were not deducted from the estimates.

Singer and music producer Pharrell Williams, who joined the NBC television singing competition The Voice as a coach this season, slipped into the top 10 with $22m.

The Radinn is an electrically powered wakeboard that gives riders the ability to fly across water without the rope and rail bar of traditional wakeboarding. The board’s innovative jet-propulsion system is piloted by a handheld remote which lets the driver control the speed. The board houses low mass lithium batteries within a lightweight carbon fiber construction which adds to the aerodynamics of the board. The traditional watersports activity has been given a completely new dynamic with the freedom of a self-governed control and no need for a boat to be towed along with. Watch it in action in the film below, and check out Red Bull’s artistic take on the watersports in “Light Wakeboarding.”

Video : You+Me : Break The Cycle

Video : You+Me : Break The Cycle

The pop ladies sure are throwing us for a curve ball with their duet projects as of late, no?

After Lady Gaga teamed up with Tony Bennett for their collection of jazz standards, Cheek To Cheek, Pink announced that she too is embarking on a new musical journey, joining Dallas Green for a foray into folk that steers far from her more familiar rowdy behavior.

The duo already dropped their gentle lead track “You And Me” weeks ago, and now, the duo returns with a heartfelt new selection from their forthcoming record, rose ave., out on October 14.

The chilling ballad, a love song dedicated to Pink’s mother, sees the two singers soulfully crooning across dramatic strings and a repetitive guitar melody. “Let me heal the wounds you’ve held onto all these years/Break the cycle, break the chains, ’cause love is louder than all of your pain,” the two declare across the hopeful chorus. Pink has always been excellent at conveying strong emotions in her music (she’s quite underrated, in fact!), and this stripped-down production only allows her words to stand out stronger than ever. In fact, there’s a fairly good chance you’ll even shed a tear or two.

“It didn’t turn out to be quite the love song I thought it would be, but it’s very honest and came out to be so much more,” Pink told HuffPo Entertainment, where the track premiered earlier today.

Listen to the song above, and let us know what you think in the comments.

Gear : Watches : Samsung Gear Fit

Gear : Watches : Samsung Gear Fit

Most of the fitness-based wearables we've seen so far have been very different from smartwatches. And one of the few attempts to blend the two, the Fitbit Force, ended up getting recalled (damn those skin rashes). Enter Samsung, which never met a mobile product category it didn't like. Read on, as Gizmag reviews the Samsung Gear Fit, a fitness tracker that also has some smartwatch blood flowing through its veins.

There's no question what the coolest thing about the Gear Fit is. It uses a curved display that contours along the slope of your wrist. Curved touchscreen displays are pretty new to the world of mobile devices, but the Gear Fit is the first device I've seen that actually makes good use of one. The Fit's narrow design with a 1.84-in curved display makes a lot of sense. If you bred a Jawbone Up with a Galaxy Gear, then their love child would probably look – and act – a lot like the Gear Fit.

I can't get enough of the Gear Fit's smooth exterior. You know how every rumored Apple product gets a Photoshopped render that pops up on the internet? The ones that are so imaginative and amazing-looking that the actual product ends up looking pretty boring by comparison? Well, the Gear Fit looks kinda like a fantasy iWatch concept brought to life. This is one damn sexy-looking fitness tracker.

The one exception is the cheap plastic frame that surrounds the screen. It has a metallic look, and if you don't look closely, you might think it's actually made of stainless steel. But one unfortunate drop was all it took to remind me that this kind of plastic scratches easily. The screen itself is made of sturdy Gorilla Glass, but if you aren't careful, you might find some hairline scratches popping up on that frame. On a device that depends so much on its good looks, that's never fun.

That narrow screen does have a few quirks. You can set it to show your content either horizontally (the default) or vertically. I think the screen looks better in horizontal mode, but if you're wearing it on the outside of your wrist, reading your info that way can be a little awkward. Horizontal mode is great if you're wearing the Fit on the inside of your wrist, but when you do that, the Fit's wake-up gesture doesn't work properly (it normally turns the screen on when you lift your wrist to look at the screen). This is a pretty minor nitpick, but it would have been nice to see an option to set the wake-up gesture for wearing the Fit on the inside of your wrist.

So what does the Gear Fit do? Well, on the fitness side, it can serve as an always-on pedometer, tracking your steps throughout the day. You do have to turn this feature on manually, but once you do that, you can pretty much forget about it. The Fit's tracking automatically separates each day's data, so there's no need to toggle it on each morning. Leaving the pedometer running all day also doesn't appear to hurt battery life.

The Fit can also track the time, distance, and calories for specific workouts (even if the general-purpose pedometer is already tracking your daily steps in the background). The Exercise app lets you set your workout for running, walking, cycling, or hiking. And in the S Health app on your paired smartphone, you can set goals for yourself, and the Fit will reward you (with virtual medals) when you hit those marks.

The Fit also measures your heart rate – both during those workouts and any time you feel like checking it manually. The heart rate sensor sits on the back of the device's main body, and it worked most of the times I tried it. It doesn't hurt to arch your wrist back a little bit when it's reading your heart rate, and you also can't wear the Fit ridiculously loose and expect it to read your pulse. All in all, the problems are few, it seems accurate, and the heart rate sensor is one of the Fit's most handy features.

The Fit does also have a sleep tracker thrown into the mix. You just fire up the Sleep app before you doze off, and the Fit will tell you how long you slept, and how much of that time was spent lying still. It's possible you'll appreciate this feature, but I found it to be of little use. I already have an amazing sleep tracker that tells me exactly what I need to know: I ask myself if I woke up feeling refreshed or not. If so, then I got a good night's sleep. If not, then I didn't. Call me old-school, but I don't need that much data about myself.

The Gear Fit has a more than solid feature list. I'd say it's in the same ballpark as rival trackers like the Fitbit Flex, Jawbone Up, and Nike FuelBand. You could even argue that the Gear Fit's pulse monitor and touchscreen alone put it several steps ahead of those devices.

On the other hand, you could argue that the Gear Fit has a pretty conservative list of workout-based features. After all, isn't Samsung trying to brand itself as a master innovator in the wearable space? If it wants to really innovate – rather than just running commercials that make its products look innovative – then it would have been nice to see a few surprises thrown in there.

What about hydration levels? Blood oxygen measurements? Some kind of breathing rate monitor? Or maybe just an option to remind you to get up and move if you've been sitting too long? I'm no exercise guru, and it's possible those sensors aren't practical on a device this size. But it seems like a mega-company like Samsung could have been at least a little more creative and ambitious with the Gear Fit's feature set.

Though the Fit might not have a mind-blowing set of fitness-based features, it is one of the rare fitness watches that also has some smartwatch features thrown in. On that side of the fence, it gives you notifications from your smartphone (it supports notifications from any app, and lets you customize which ones you receive). You can also create a list of canned text message responses that you can reply with on the Fit. It also lets you control the media output from your phone, so you can leave your phone docked in a speaker or sitting on a charger – and still play/pause, adjust the volume, or skip tracks.

... and that's about it for the smartwatch features. No voice control, like in the Galaxy Gear and Gear 2. No Google Now-like contextual information, like in the upcoming Android Wear platform. It doesn't support third-party apps, there's no camera, and you can't use it for phone calls (though you can reject calls or reply with an "I'm busy" canned message).

The Gear Fit has very good battery life, and I think Samsung's estimate of three to four days is more than sound. On a typical day, I have the pedometer running in the background non-stop, with intermittent notifications flying in, a few random heart rate checks, and about an hour's worth of exercise tracking. With this kind of use, it only dropped around 25 percent each day. That's pretty damn good. Only the pickiest customers will be let down by the Fit's battery life.

The Gear Fit's charging mechanism is a little clunky. You have a standard micro USB cable that connects to a small clip-on cradle. The cradle snaps onto the back of the Fit, where its charging coils can draw in some juice. But finagling the cradle onto the device, so that it actually stays on, can be a minor pain. Nearly every time I've charged the Fit, I've had to slide the cradle around for a few seconds before it snapped into place. And sometimes when it looked like it had snapped on, it then popped off just enough to stop charging. It's a little thing, but sometimes customers appreciate – and are annoyed by – the tiniest details the most.

Like all of Samsung's other wearables, the Gear Fit is only compatible with Samsung phones. Or, more specifically, Samsung Galaxy phones running Android 4.3 or higher (the full list is at the very bottom of Samsung's product page below). There are already some unsupported hacks out there that let you pair the Fit with non-Samsung Android phones, but since Samsung could potentially break that compatibility with a future software update, I wouldn't recommend buying the Fit without also owning a supported phone.

The Gear Fit is water resistant, rated IP67. That means it's approved for "temporary submersion," and was tested sitting in 1 meter (3.3 ft) of water for 30 minutes, coming out as good as new. I dunked it in a glass of water, and poured another glass on top of it, and it was none the worse for wear. The water resistance is a nice bonus. If you get caught in a rainstorm, accidentally drop it in a sink, or just can't bear to stop your fitness tracking while you're in the shower, your investment should come out unscathed.

The Gear Fit has IP67 water resistance So there you have it. The Gear Fit is one of the most intriguing wearable devices I've used. It gives you several key pieces of the fitness tracking puzzle: distance- and step-tracking, estimated calories burned, and a heart rate sensor. Then notifications and music controls bring a little smartwatch flavor to the party. Four-day battery life doesn't hurt either. And best of all, it's wrapped in a slick-looking package with an oh-so smooth curved display.

That 1.84-in curved display makes the Gear Fit quite the looker Is the Gear Fit worth its US$200 asking price? For many customers, I think it will be. Most of the Gear Fit's rivals ring up for lower than that, but some of them don't even have screens – much less touchscreens. Just being able to see all your data on the band itself, rather than on your smartphone, should be worth some extra dough. Again, I would have liked to see Samsung look beyond just the most obvious workout-tracking features. But, on the whole, I think the Gear Fit still makes for a pretty compelling package.

News : Rita Ora To Replace Kylie On The Voice

News : Rita Ora To Replace Kylie On The Voice

Rita Ora is "so excited" to be joining The Voice.

The Radioactive singer has been confirmed as the newest coach on the UK version of the singing competition. The 23-year-old replaces Australian songstress Kylie Minogue, who left after one series because of her music and tour commitments.

"So excited to be part of; and for my team to win The Voice this series!! (sic)" Rita tweeted on Tuesday morning, after the BBC released an official statement confirming her place.

The star was also quick to share her joy at getting to work with the other coaches will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones and Kaiser Chiefs front man Ricky Wilson.

"Let's have some fun @iamwill,@RealSirTomJones and @Rickontour!!Looking forward to the blind rounds and spinning in my big red chair. EXCITED! (sic)" she added on the social networking site.

Rita can bring a lot of knowledge and advice to the table for the contestants, having had four UK number ones in her career so far. This ties her with former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell for the female British artist with the most chart toppers.

The blonde beauty isn't the only one thrilled with the news. Former Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am was quick to wish his new colleague well.

"Sir Tom Jones is our rock, Ricky is awesome and it's our pleasure to welcome the very talented Rita Ora. Rita is sweet, spicy and sassy - she's going to be a great addition to the Coaches team," he said.

The Scream & Shout performer is returning for his fourth series, as is Tom, 74, while Ricky is taking his place in the red seat for a second time.

Previous coaches were The Script star Danny O'Donoghue and British songstress Jessie J, who both left after two series.
