Gear : Shirts : Ralph Lauren Polo Tech

Gear : Shirts : Ralph Lauren Polo Tech

Ralph Lauren unveiled its latest lifestyle fashion Monday and it didn’t take place on a runway. Instead, the new high performance Polo Tech shirt debuted on opening day of the US Open in NY. Some of the ball boys at the two-week tournament will be wearing smart black compression shirts capable of monitoring their biometric data.

This marriage of fashion and tech is a partnership between Ralph Lauren, which designed the shirts, and OMSignal which provided the biometric tech know-how. The compression shirt is basically a black, nylon tee shirt like you might see someone wearing at the gym. It’s equipped with a sensor that tracks the wearer’s vital signs. The data is sent via Bluetooth to an app that that breaks down the wearer’s recorded activity into heart rate, respiration, movement and other data. And it has a Polo logo on it.

The shirt acts as a sensor because it has a conductive silver-coated thread woven into it. So instead of wearing a chest strap to monitor your movements and collect the data, the silver in the fabric does this for you. It sends it all to a “black box” which is attached to the shirt with 4 snaps. This can be snapped off so you can wash the shirt. The black box has an accelerometer and gyrometer, in addition to housing the Bluetooth transmitter. It’s also rechargeable, though my idea of charging a shirt has nothing to do with micro USB ports.

The tech box is a little larger than looks comfortable but the models demonstrating it with picture-perfect push-ups to get their heart rate going didn’t seem to mind. As they increased their stress levels, I was able to see the heart rate and respiration numbers of up on the mobile app. As these were working prototypes, I’m told the final products, which will be available next Spring, will have smaller sensors.

You may be wondering; wearable tech from Ralph Lauren? That’s exactly the direction the company wants to pursue, according to David Lauren, Executive Vice President of Global Advertising and Corporate Communications. He told me their goal was to be the first major luxury fashion brand making wearable tech and there are plans to expand into other types of clothes like their iconic Polo shirts, and of course fashion for women. Since the sensors can measure and return all kinds of data, he envisions taking this to the next level across the lifestyle brand; embedding tech fabric into everything from baby clothes to business suits to the latest fashion trends.

For now, Marcos Giron, a top-ranked singles collegiate tennis player will be wearing the PoloTech shirt during his debut match at this year’s Open. He’ll be tracking his biometrics, as will his coach, so they can make real-time adjustments to his play and form. The question is, how soon might we see something like this on Serena Williams? Lauren says a women’s line is definitely in the works.

No word on price yet though, I’m told it will be in line with Polo pricing.

News : Eminem Teases Shady XV Album

News : Eminem Teases Shady XV Album

Eminem appears to be putting out an album this November. The rapper will release Shady XV, thought to be either his ninth studio LP or a compilation for his label, Shady Records.

Rumours regarding the new release come via a movie trailer. The latest preview clip for The Equalizer, starring Denzel Washington, includes snippets of audio of Guts Over Fear, Eminem’s new track with Sia. At the end of the trailer, a split-second title card indicates that the song will appear both in the movie and on the mysterious Shady XV, due out on Black Friday, which is 28 November. Since the clip’s release, another short video has been posted by Eminem, showing flashes of images of his career’s greatest hits.

Over the weekend, those scant details – Shady XV, Black Friday – also briefly appeared on Eminem’s official website; however, the page has since been taken down. The rapper and his collaborators have been tweeting the #SHADYXV hashtag since June, and Eminem was also spotted sporting the phrase on a t-shirt at his recent concerts.

Most fans assume that Shady XV is not a new studio album. Eminem released his last full-length, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, less than a year ago; this would be an uncharacteristically swift follow-up for the rapper. Instead, Shady XV is most likely a nod to Shady Records’ 15th anniversary. Although Eminem has released his own greatest hits anthology, Shady has only ever issued one compilation, 2006’s The Re-Up. Like Young Money’s Rise of an Empire or Good Music’s Cruel Summer, Shady XV could be Shady Records’ bid to promote its roster acts, such as Yelawolf and Slaughterhouse.

This new record might also be his way of saluting The Slim Shady LP, which turned 15 in February. At home and in the UK, the 41-year-old’s last six albums have all gone straight to No 1.

Video : Usher : She Came To Give It To You ft. Nicki Minaj

Pharrell also makes an appearance in the dance-heavy clip.

First we got Usher and Nicki Minaj's booty-tastic VMA performance of "She Came to Give It to You" on Sunday. Now, two days later, a video for the MJ-channeling single has arrived.

Usher takes us underground for the seedy clip, through an illegal poker game to a smoky disco. Pharrell -- who co-wrote and produced the track -- is holding up the wall in the dance club, as Usher gives us flashbacks to his "Yeah!" video with all the grinding moves. Minaj makes an appropriately fierce entrance, walking through the club's surveillance room and rapping her verse in front of video screens.

Check the whole thing out for yourself -- including some impeccable shadow-dancing scenes -- above.

Singles : Logic : Driving Ms. Daisy f. Childish Gambino

Listen To : Logic : Driving Ms. Daisy f. Childish Gambino

Who Is Logic?
Sir Robert Bryson Hall II (born January 22, 1990), known by his stage name Logic, is an American rapper. He was born and raised in Gaithersburg, Maryland. He has amassed a large internet following and is a member of the RattPack, his group of friends that he works with. Logic has released four official mixtapes, with the most recent being the critically acclaimed Young Sinatra: Welcome to Forever. He is currently signed with Visionary Music Group and Def Jam Recordings.

Logic was born in 1990 in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Throughout his childhood, both his African-American father and Caucasian mother suffered from crack addiction and alcoholism. His father was not a part of his childhood, but they are in contact with each other now. Growing up, his brothers sold crack cocaine and even sold the drug to his father. He attended Gaithersburg High School but did not graduate. He began skipping classes in the tenth grade. "I started doing badly and failed every class but English, so they kicked me out of school, they gave up on me." Logic was expelled and used his free time to dive into pursuing his music career. In hindsight, he wishes he would have stayed in school and received a proper education and always encourages his fans to do so. “I remember telling the kids [at my old high school], ‘All you kids that are here today to watch me speak to you guys have people that actually love you and care about you that make you go to school.’ And I said, ‘There are people in this auditorium as well that have nobody, but you’re still here and those same people are stronger than even I was.’ So education is a real big deal.” Logic left his mother’s home at 17, lived with a friend, and got two jobs. Since then, he and his mother have drifted apart and are no longer on speaking terms.

In 2009, Logic had come out of a five year relationship while working on his music. "You can put your everything into a relationship, but that doesn't mean you're going to get back what you give. When I created my first mixtape, I realized everything I put in my music — the hours, the lyricism, the time, the grind, pain, sweat, blood, tears — I get it back. I see it." He stated in an interview, "The thing is, I feel like so many artists, well, not really artists but so many people think they can rap and they just want a deal and the glitz and the glamour and the women but they don't understand that all I do and want to do is rhyme... I think I've sacrificed so much from my relationships to my friendships to my family; I've literally sacrificed my entire life and I'm honest."

Logic has referred to himself as a huge pothead when he was growing up. He has said recently that, "I don’t drink; I don’t smoke weed. I used to smoke; I used to be a pretty big pothead when I was younger, but I don’t smoke. I might have an occasional glass of champagne." He credits the way his family was growing up as his reason for not doing drugs. Logic believes, "You are not defined by the material you possess or the amount of money in your bank account, what defines you is how you attain them. "

Logic first became interested in rap by watching the movie Kill Bill at the age of 15, for which RZA of Wu-Tang Clan did the score. He started listening to Wu-Tang and delved deeper into hip-hop from there. The first hip-hop album he bought was The Roots "Do You Want More?!!!??!" Other big influences include his mentor Solomon Taylor and friend Lenbo, who let Logic live with him and make music in his basement.

Although he is a hip-hop artist, Logic is heavily influenced by Frank Sinatra. As a child, his mother made him watch old black and white movies, which formed his love for Frank Sinatra and influenced how he represents himself with the way he speaks and how he interacts with others with peace, love, grace, positivity, honor, and valor. Because of Frank Sinatra, Logic says he does his best to carry himself in an intellectual and kind manner. Just as Sinatra had the Rat Pack, Logic has his RattPack (an acronym for "Real All The Time" and consisting of friends such as his manager Chris, his producers 6ix and OB, and friend/fellow rapper C Dot Castro). Logic describes Sinatra as a man who was, "suave, debonair, honorable, respectable, with valor and grace." Logic's female fans are also called BobbySoxers just as Frank's were. He describes BobbySoxer girls as beautiful, intelligent, elegant, educated, classy, hardworking, young women. Logic also refers to himself as "Young Sinatra."

Logic has said that a never ending list of artists have influenced him including Wu-Tang Clan, Big L, A Tribe Called Quest, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Rakim, Drake, J. Cole, KRS-One and Nas. He has also stated that all music inspires him, including The Red Hot Chili Peppers, John Coltrane, and Miles Davis. He says that all the classic artists are what really gave him a foundation, but the newer artists are also his inspirations, and he brings the best of both worlds to his music. Logic says, "I love all subgenres within hip-hop and all genres of music and I think that's what allows me to make the music that I do, because of my appreciation for the music."

Video : Jessie J, Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj : Bang Bang

Video : Jessie J, Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj : Bang Bang

In the spirit of the Moulin Rouge! version of “Lady Marmalade” and that Pepsi commercial in which Britney, BeyoncĂ©, and Pink are Roman gladiators comes the new video “Bang Bang,” for Jessie J’s new collabo single with Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande. Which is to say, the “Bang Bang” video is verrrrrrry early 2000s. Aside from the Beats Pill product placement and that fact that Ariana Grande would have been a zygote during the Carson Daly era, this video could be straight from TRL. The styling actually looks just like the New York–themed ad campaign for the 2000 VMAs that depicted Britney as a sexy hot dog vendor. The song “Bang Bang” still sounds like a High School Musical outtake, although the lyrics are obliquely sexual. I’m fairly certain “bang bang” is like a female version of “skeet skeet” in this context, so do what you will with that info. Jessie J is one of the U.K.’s most mediocre pop stars, so it’s necessary for her to team up with the likes of Ariana and Nicki to score another hit in America (her first was the execrable “Price Tag”). Jessie J has a big voice, but it’s hollow and lacks soul, and there are a lot of British pop stars I’d rather see break in the States (hi, Cher Lloyd and Cheryl Cole).

Noted former bisexual Jessie J jacks Canadian pop-house breakout Kiesza’s whole dancing-in-the-streets-in-suspenders bit for her setup and crosses it with the Christina Aguilera block-party video for “Can’t Hold Us Down,” while demon princess Ariana lounges in a Spring Breakers–themed chill-out room under neon Arecaceae. Ariana should probably not sing, “She might’ve let you hold her hand in school / But I’mma show you how to graduate” because even though she is fully legal (21!), her child-beauty-pageant looks make it feel like she might not even be at hand-holding-in-school age yet. There are more shots of Jessie’s fake New York City street scene and Ariana’s slumber party, and then Nicki touches down on a rooftop in a helicopter and convinces us all to let the song play through. Nicki does a double-time (yet clean) victory-lap verse, and then all three gather for a rooftop fiesta with an electroclash DJ, rounding out the 2000s theme. Bang bang, now it’s stuck in your head, too.

News : Miley Cyrus Condemns Media Post-VMAs

News : Miley Cyrus Condemns Media Post-VMAs

Miley Cyrus has condemned the media following news that there is an arrest warrant for the homeless man who accompanied her to the MTV VMAs last weekend.

Cyrus took 22-year-old Jesse Helt to the MTV VMAs as her guest, having met him at homeless youth centre My Friend's Place.

The singer asked him onstage to help collect a prize for her 'Wrecking Ball' video to raise awareness about homelessness among young people. Having received the gong from talk show host Jimmy Fallon, Helt gave an emotional speech about youth homelessness in the US as a teary Cyrus watched on.

It has since emerged that there is an arrest warrant against Helt for a probation violation, and that he is wanted in his native Polk County, Oregon. Police arrived at his home in Salem, Oregon, following an interview his mother gave to a local newspaper saying that that Helt had flown back after the VMAs using money given to him by Cyrus, reports The Telegraph.

The warrant dates back to November 2011 when Helt failed to report to his probation officer. Helt spent three weeks in jail after pleading guilty to trespass and criminal mischief in 2010, and was sentenced to probation and drug treatment.

Cyrus has condemned the media for seizing on the story, writing on Twitter: "People who are homeless have lived very hard lives. Jesse included… I hope that this can be the start of a national conversation about youth homelessness and how to end it… Does looking down upon the homeless help people excuse their inaction?" Throwback Video : Eminem : Just Lose It

Throwback Video : Eminem : Just Lose It

Michael Jackson was reportedly miffed about Eminem's new video, "Just Lose It," the first single off of his upcoming "Encore" album.

The references to Jackson are hardly subtle. Eminem wears Jackson's famous red leather "Thriller" jacket and pants in the video and in one scene his nose falls off.

Later in the video, Eminem (again dressed as Michael) sits on a bed where kids are bouncing up and down. He raps: "Come here little kiddie, on my lap, guess who's back with a brand new rap. And I don't mean rap as in a case of child molestation."

A Jackson spokesman said: " The Jackson family feels the video is demeaning and disrespectful and hopes Eminem will pull it," ananova.com reports.

In the video, Eminem also makes fun of Madonna, Pee-wee Herman, MC Hammer, Paris Hilton, Mekhi Phifer, Dr. Dre, Erik Estrada and "Bad Santa" star Billy Bob Thornton. Safe to say no one was spared any mercy in this crass, but hilarious video.

News : Beyonce Domiates VMAs

News : Beyonce Domiates VMAs

Beyoncé reigned over the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards.

The XO singer was the recipient of the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award and performed snippets of tracks from her entire latest self-titled album as husband Jay Z sat in the crowd with their daughter, Blue Ivy.

The rapper later presented her with the honour, and she kissed the pair before addressing a raucous crowd with an emotional acceptance speech.

"I have nothing to say, but I'm filled with so much gratitude,' she said. 'I just thank God for this moment. Blue, I love you, my beloved, I love you, my fans, I love you, MTV, I love you."

The pop diva also took home Best Video with a Social Message and Best Cinematography for Pretty Hurts, as well as Best Collaboration for Drunk In Love, featuring Jay Z.

Katy Perry meanwhile beat out competition from Iggy Azalea (Fancy, featuring Charli XCX), Beyoncé (Partition), Lorde (Royals) and Ariana Grande (Problem, featuring Iggy Azalea) to scoop Best Female Video.

Ed Sheeran took home the Best Male Video prize for his track Sing, featuring Pharrell, who was nominated for his own hit single, Happy, while Lorde became the first female to take home the prize for Best Rock Video with Royals and Ariana Grande scored Best Pop Video for Problem, featuring Iggy Azalea.

Miley Cyrus scooped the highly-coveted Video of the Year award for her song Wrecking Ball, beating out competition from Iggy Azalea (Fancy, featuring Charli XCX), Beyoncé (Drunk In Love, featuring Jay Z), Pharrell Williams (Happy) and Sia (Chandelier).

The singer allowed a homeless friend, Jesse, to take the stage and accept the award on her behalf in effort to raise awareness about the plight of homeless youth in the US.

"I am accepting this award for the 1.6 million runaways and homeless youth in the United States who are starving, lost and scared for their lives right now. I know this because I'm one of those people," he told the crowd.

"I've survived in shelters all over the city. I've cleaned your hotel rooms, I've been an extra in your movies, I've been an extra in your life. Although I've been invisible to you I have a lot of the same dreams that have brought me to you tonight," he added, later asking viewers to visit Miley's Facebook page, where a video was posted of the star sharing how others could help.

Video : Rasheeda : Turnt Up

Rasheeda took a little break from the craziness of ‘Love And Hip Hop: Atlanta’ and her ImBossy.Com Business to get ‘Turnt Up’ in an even better music video. Watch the Georgia Peach Rap Diva work it above.

Sporting even better visuals and the dark-flashy camera style of a dance club, Rasheeda shows her stuff in this video, be it hip twirls, rapping camera shots a la every other rapper ever, and a pretty sick outfit. Add a tight beat to that and a catchy chorus and you've got yourself an addictive video that's a joy to watch and listen to.

Listen To : Childish Gambino : Candler Road

Childish Gambino made headlines last week in connection with his eye-opening Twitter rant. He’s been absent from social media since, but tonight he breaks his silence with a brand new song, “Candler Road.”

The opening minute of the track is heavily trap-influenced, and Gambino laces it with hard-hitting bars and a calculated flow before everything flips on a dime right around the 1:17 mark. Bright chords and a sing-songy, makeshift hook cut in out of nowhere, and he rides the rest of the song out with a reflective verse in which he looks back on the ups and downs of his journey post-Because The Internet.

Stream in full above, and stay tuned for more.

A passive speaker might not sound like much. In fact it sounds the sort of device that would run the other way if a ruckus in Best Buy were ever to break out.

That said, if you’re looking for a home sound system as refined as it is revolutionary, you can be sure the naturally amplified Chinon Legato CH-PS849 iPhone Speaker has your back.

Along with giving that gramophone at your Granddad’s house a 21st century upgrade thanks largely to its inimitable wooden amplifier, the Legato needs no electricity. Instead, a series of intricate chamber channels heighten the sound waves through the horn to both equalizing and amplify some rich and smooth sounds from your iPod organically.

Crafted from ash hardwood, this the pine-based acoustics increase sound through the speaker by up to six decibels - furthermore, compatible with the iPhone 4 upwards, there should be no problem in downloading The Charleston or something equally fitting.

Priced at a reassuring £190, it’s a wise investment. So long as you don’t take it to your Granddad's house. He might flatten your iPod with a 12-inch record.

There couldn’t be a more fitting title for Ella Eyre‘s new track. Although she hasn’t actually been away for that long, the 20-year old London singer continues the bright start to her career with a powerful single titled “Comeback,” as the follow-up to her previous release “If I Go,” which managed to reach number 16 in the UK chart. The offering was premiered by Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1, as Ella, who has been busy touring, readies her debut album for later this year.

Singles : Chris Brown : X

Listen To : Chris Brown : X

With Chris Brown's long-delayed X album dropping Sept. 16, the R&B star just revealed the title track to his upcoming sixth album.

"X" -- produced by Billboard's current cover star Diplo -- finds Breezy in decidedly EDM territory. Although his voice is restrained and silky for most of the song, he gruffly shouts, "I swear to GOD I'm moving on" right before the bass drop. Listen to it above.

Aside from Chris Brown, Diplo is also working with Usher and Madonna on upcoming music.

Telling Billboard about one of his upcoming Madge collabos, Diplo says, "That song is on like version 20. It went from a piano ballad to a 'Turn Down for What'-style song, which I didn’t like. Now it’s somewhere in the middle, which is a more pop record."

Cars : Gumpert Apollo

Cars : Gumpert Apollo

The Gumpert apollo is in the fast lane. Exactly three years after series production began in Altenburg, Thuringia; the 40th apollo rolled out of the factory. In 2009, 25 cars will leave the Altenburg factory.

Exactly three years after series production began in Altenburg, Thuringia; the 40th apollo rolled out of the factory. And even in times of economic and financial crisis, Roland Gumpert, company founder and managing director, and his 45-man team, are looking at the coming year with optimism, as the Gumpert success story has only just begun. Reason enough to review past experiences and to find out why this super-sportsman is so fascinated with the griffin as a symbol?

"The most exciting car to ever wear number plates", was the headline in the British magazine AUTOCAR in early summer 2005. The apollo is a rebel among supercars, and the figures speak for themselves: 8 cylinders, 650 hp, 850 Newton metres and a top speed of well over 300 km/h. But this car isn't exactly lacking in terms of looks either. Be it double wing doors, monstrous air intakes or the huge spoiler for even more downforce. The apollo makes one thing unmistakably clear; form follows function. And makes it successful!

Start your engine!.
"From the first ideas to the start of production was a long and difficult journey", recalls Roland Gumpert. "I returned to Germany at the end of 2001, after over three years in China. As head of sales and marketing I was responsible for the development of the dealer network for the Audi-VW joint venture in China. Here once more, Roland Mayer (MTM) asked me whether, as a project engineer, I would like to assist in the building of a prototype sports car. With the approval of Audi and on the condition that, if we were to develop a new sports car, it would not be a prototype, but a series product that we developed, we began with the apollo project. Roughly three years later, the first two prototypes were completed."

It has been confirmed to the Altenburg team more than once that the apollo is not simply a supercar but nearer to being a racing car than any other car before. In many respects, the car is already designed for the racetrack. "Since the beginning, we have placed especially great importance on safety. The tube frame of the apollo is made from chromium molybdenum steel which is also used in the building of aeroplanes. It already fulfils standard international design specifications of the FIA motor sport authorities", affirms Gumpert.

The fast car provided evidence of its racetrack capabilities at the "24 hours NĂĽrburgring" in May. The "green hell" became the stage of a spectacular premiere. As F1 regulations will be allowing hybrid systems from 2009, a private team built around former F1 driver Heinz-Harald Frentzen took on the challenge a year earlier: the use of a hybrid racing car in the marathon in the Eifel. With the hybrid version of the Gumpert Apollo, Gumpert Sportwagenmanufaktur has broken new ground. Just three months went by between the first discussions and the finished apollo. The hybrid racer, with its 3.3 Litre V8 bi-turbo engine and an electric motor providing roughly 100 kW, can move at up 630 hp. It wasn’t quite enough to win this time, but it proved that hybrid technology has a future in motor sports.

To gear up!
The goals for 2009 have been set high. 25 cars should leave the factory. Destination: The whole world! In the past few months, GUMPERT has been able to find people interested in buying its cars in Europe, the Middle East and the USA: "Needless to say, we would like to further expand our distribution network, mostly towards the East, so Russia and the Asian region or Australia. At the moment we are thinking in terms of the latter two markets as well as about a right-hand drive car"; boasts Gumpert. At the moment the company sells 60% of its cars abroad.

One of the new technical developments in the coming year is a hydraulic lift system, which gives the apollo up to 30 mm of additional ground clearance. In addition, there will be a few changes to the design of the fast car.

What is it that makes the Apollo so special?
This car is so unique in its design, it shines with driving dynamics and power and the car alone knows what driving pleasure and perfect handling really are. Having respect, courage and being a bit of a petrol head are prerequisites for anyone hoping to tame this beast. For Roland Gumpert, one thing is clear: "It is therefore the full package of everything a car needs; namely quality, exclusivity and technology. The customer should stand in front of it and say: "Wow, that's a great car, I want it!"

Background information.
Exclusivity is expressed in uniqueness.

Gumpert Sportwagenmanufaktur GmbH is a manufacturer of exclusive super sports cars based in Altenburg / Thuringia – close to the City of Leipzig.

The Managing Director is Roland Gumpert. Mr. Gumpert previously worked for Audi for over 30 years and held – amongst other high positions – the position of Director of Audi Sport. Under his management, Audi won a total of 25 World Rally Championship races and 4 World Rally Championship titles.

The apollo is a pure uncompromising, street-legal super sports car with extraordinary racing-performance. It provides superior driving abilities beyond all imagination: up to 224 mph (360 km/h) maximum speed and a breathtaking acceleration from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3 seconds. Thereby every car is a unique masterpiece; individually customized to the wishes and desires. Thus it bears the personal touch of its owner. The apollo offers unlimited fun on the road and serious competition in motor sports. A bolide setting benchmarks.

The basic price of the Gumpert Apollo with its V8 4.2 l Twin-Turbo engine - generating 650 BHP - is 301,600 EUR excl. of VAT.

Gear : Shoes : Ă©S Original Accel

An interview back in May with Sole Technology founder Pierre AndrĂ© SĂ©nizergues ushered in the official re-introduction of Ă©S Footwear to the global market. Though armed with a slew of updated models, the legendary skateboarding brand – at least initially – withheld the hallmark model that enchanted a generation. Of course, we’re referring to the Accel: the model skate shoe of its time; equal parts padded and grippy; featured in countless rewound video parts, etc. After much ado, Ă©S has finally reprised production on the original Accel, finding the shoe done in its original colorways by offering the option of either all-wheat or murdered-out black. The Accel has already begun shipping to local skateshops, the listing of which can be found here.

Gadgets : The BluePrint Transparent Speakers

Gadgets : The BluePrint Transparent Speakers

Quite possibly the most beautiful speaker you’ve never laid eyes on, the Transparent Speaker is a stripped down sound system that forces us to rethink what we expect from electronics design. Clear the way for aural clarity.

We’re often wowed by practical implementations of digital innovations, but we love creatively retooling existing tech too. The Transparent Speaker is a shining example. The team at Swedish design agency People People have taken the standard home-hi-fi audio system and literally stripped it down bare, leaving nothing but the premium audio components and a strikingly beautiful glass box. And with The Blueprint’s exclusive Airplay bundle, you can wirelessly stream music to the Transparent Speaker from any Apple device on your wifi network.

The Transparent speaker connects with a standard 3.5mm mini-jack on both the front and back for an easy hook up. And while the designers at People People decided to make this a wired experience, it’s very simple to add wireless functionality too. Bundled here as an exclusive Airplay Edition, the Scandinavian sound system comes with a built-in slot and power-supply for the Airport Express, clearing the way for the speaker’s voyeuristically see-through design to remain front and center. They really thought of everything.

For You Sound Geeks :

2 x 3′ full range drivers
1 x 6.5′ woofer
Output: 80-100 W (Energy-efficient amplifier boards)
Sealed cabinet volume: 10,2 l

USB Power Out socket in back
“Toaster slot” for Apple Airport Express (Airport Express included in AirPlay Edition)

News : Strong Words From Arcade Fire's Agent To NFL

News : Strong Words From Arcade Fire's Agent To NFL

Representatives for some of music's biggest bands are scratching their heads over the NFL's reported pay-to-play plan that would seemingly sell its Super Bowl Halftime performance slot to the highest bidder.

But this will only work if pop stars participate, Rolling Stone points out, speaking with some of the business' biggest agents.

"Halftime's for sale," Dennis Arfa, agent for Metallica, Billy Joel, and Rush, told the publication. "If I was a young band, and I had a billionaire backer, I'd buy my way to the Super Bowl — everybody would know me after the Super Bowl. Is Paul McCartney going to pay? I doubt it."

"Obviously it is a marketing boon to play halftime for the Super Bowl," David T. Viecelli, agent for Arcade Fire, Mumford & Sons, and St. Vincent said. "But I hope that everybody tells them to go get stuffed."

Of course, performing at the Super Bowl — which had a record 112 million viewers this year — has some serious financial benefits. An NFL spokesperson pointed Rolling Stone to Madonna's 165 percent increase in music sales following her 2012 performance and the Who's 392 percent jump in 2010.

Katy Perry, Rihanna, and Coldplay have been named as top contenders for the high-profile gig the Wall Street Journal reported earlier this week. Typically, artists are not paid to perform but the NFL covers production costs. Meanwhile, we're still rooting for the black horse candidate, "Weird Al" Yankovic.

Video : Jasmine V : That’s Me Right There f. Kendrick Lamar

Jasmine V keeps her love locked down in the Gil Green-directed video for “That’s Me Right There” featuring Kendrick Lamar.

The 20-year-old L.A. songstress, who played Justin Bieber’s love interest in the “Baby” video, heats up the screen with a new man. They cozy up on the basketball court and on the hood of an old school Chevy, while Jasmine busts out some fierce moves. With a hoodie covering his eyes, King Kendrick makes a dark and mysterious cameo seated behind the wheel of a car.

“‘That’s Me Right There’ is talking about being confident in a relationship,” Jasmine told Rap-Up TV. “Basically saying you can leave your man or girl wherever and at the end of the day, nobody can take them from you.”

Jasmine was excited to collaborate with the Compton MC. “He’s amazing. So low key and he’s so quiet, but he’s such a humble guy,” she said. “I was definitely honored and blessed to be on the same set as him.”

Her debut EP is due later this summer via Interscope Records featuring contributions from Ne-Yo, Jeremih, Problem, Harmony Samuels, Sam Hook, and Soundz.

Singles : Katy Perry : This Is How We Do f. RiFF RAFF

Listen To : Seven Lions : Worlds Apart

If you’ve been wondering when Riff Raff and Katy Perry would finally come together for a remix of “This Is How We Do,” the time is now. Katy proudly announced her “aqua berry versace” surprise via her Twitter and Instagram on Thursday (August 21):

“MAY I PRESENT IN ALL ITS AQUABERRY VERSACNESS THE BEST REMIX OF ALL TIME EVEN BEFORE TIME EXISTED #THISISHOWWEDO FT. MY SIDEPIECE & THE ALADDIN TO MY JASMINE, RIFF RAFF! @jodyhighroller LINK IN BIO, PEEP DIS!”

Katy sports Riff Raff-style braids and a smirk in the side by side post with her co-conspirator, who will be known from now on as the Aladdin to Katy’s Jasmine.

We knew the two were pals (that MAYBE went on a date?) from a TBT a few months ago, but there was no hint of their work together on Katy’s track.

The remix is just the right combo of Katy’s bubble-gum pop and Riff Raff’s imaginative and sometimes comedic lines — check it out. Katy has a big weekend ahead of her at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, where she’s nominated for Best Female Video and Best Collaboration for “Dark Horse,” featuring Juicy J.

News : Pharrell's Infamous Hat To Be Put In Museum

News : Pharrell's Infamous Hat To Be Put In Museum

The now-infamous hat Pharrell Williams wore to this year’s Grammys is to go on display in a museum.

The brown Vivienne Westwood creation sold for $44,100 (£26,500) on eBay earlier this year to US roast beef producers Arbys. Williams had put the headgear up for sale to raise money for his charity From One Hand To Another, which raises funds for young people living in at-risk communities in the US.

Now Arbys has announced that the hat will go on display temporarily at Washington DC's Newseum from August 22 to October 26.

Earlier this month, the tracklisting for Pharrell's NBA 2K15 soundtrack was revealed. The music for the game, which will be released on October 7, features songs from an eclectic mix of artists including The Strokes, Lorde, Death From Above 1979, Busta Rhymes and The Rapture.

The producer has included three of his own songs on the playlist, with 'Hunter', 'Can U Have It Like That' and 'How Does It Feel' making the grade.
