News : Drake Takes ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, Challenges Beyonce
You may have noticed that a trend called the "Ice Bucket Challenge" is currently sweeping the internet. It's a campaign to raise awareness and money for the neurodegenerative disease Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), which causes people to lose the ability to use their muscles. With the "Ice Bucket" phenomenon, participants get a bucket of water dumped on their head to coincide with a donation to the ALS Association, and then call upon a friend to do the same. (Other participants have included Justin Timberlake, the Roots and Jimmy Fallon, and "Weird Al".) Drake has now accepted the challenge—he had a bucket of ice water dumped on his head on stage last night, during a date of the Drake Vs. Lil Wayne tour, as MissInfo notes. Weezy poured the ice, having done the challenge himself last week. Watch video below, via the Instagram account of Drake fansite Word on Road. Drake has also called upon Beyoncé to accept the challenge next. As Drake points out on his own Instagram page, "The purpose is to donate money though people!!! Support the cause!"
