About Holeman and Finch Public House
Holeman and Finch Public House is just that, a public house. The arrangement of the tables and the seating in the establishment encourages conversation and communion—a sense that this is a community gathering. The menu is set up the same way. A meal here might be one or two items for one person or several items served up to share with companions or your neighbor seated at the bar.

There are items on the menu that have been there since day one, and will remain there; because sometimes, you want to go to a place and taste the familiar—it’s comforting. There is room on the menu for playful exploration as well. In an effort to return to classic techniques that provide the restaurant’s pantry with house-made, house-cured and house-preserved items, made with seasonal ingredients, we have discovered ways to deliver traditional offerings that seem modern and new.

Our menu is a tip of the hat to the historic recipes that pubs, bistros and yes, Southern kitchens have served for hundreds of years and at the same time, points to what it tastes like to live and eat well in Atlanta, Georgia right now. The hope is that you will enjoy food here that is hearty and comfortable but also things that perhaps you have never tried or even heard of before. It is exciting for us to cook for you, serve you, pour wine and pints and craft cocktails for you.

The menu changes nightly and items are subject to seasonal availability.

Holeman and Finch Public House Review By Courtney C.: Chicagoland, IL
"We visited Atlanta to try the "Best Burger in America." Scratch that, we came to visit my brother, but the burger was a close second. We'd talked about the elusive burger for weeks and how the restaurant makes it hard to obtain just to create hype. All of this buzz couldn't be right, right? It absolutely was.

We took a bus around 6:30 PM on Friday because there was no way in hell we were going to let this burger escape us. We ended up missing the bus stop because apparently they don't announce the name of the bus stops like they do in Chicago. We ended up at the end of the line completely confused. At this point, we'd already had a few cocktails (and by few, I mean at least 3 each) so I had to deal with my brother and husband tipsy and almost in tears that I screwed everything up and made them miss the only thing in life that they wanted. Melodramatic, much? Fast forward 45 minutes and we made it to H&F. They both ran into the doors and immediately ask "DID WE MISS THE BURGERS?" We were told that there were still plenty of burgers left and that a wait for a table was an hour and a half. We hung out in the bar and ordered a few drinks. The bar was packed too and we ended up just in the way. Once a few people got their tables, we were able to sit down in the bar and order some food. (Around 8 PM, we asked how many burgers had been ordered and our server said 17. There were only 7 burgers left two hours before serving time. Yowza) Here's what we tried while we waited:

-Roasted eggplant - we originally wanted the stuffed peppers, but they were out. The server assured us that the eggplant was way better anyway and we were not disappointed. The eggplant was very soft and delectible.

-Deviled eggs 3 ways- Since there were 3 of us, we each got 1 half. My husband devoured the jalapeno one so I didn't get to try that, but my bro and I each took a bite out of the ham and pickle ones. Of the two, I thought the pickle one was the best but they were both really good.

-Pimento cheese- I could have just kept eating this all night. I'd never tried pimento cheese until visiting Atlanta, but did have it a few times after H&F. Theirs was, by far, the best. So creamy!

-Sapelo Island Clams-Besides the burger, this was my favorite thing of the night. (It also happens to be on the "100 things you must eat in Atlanta before you die" list) The broth was almost like a clam chowder base. Super salty and really filling. I wish they would have brought me about 10 more pieces of bread to go with the broth though, one wasn't nearly enough to soke up all of that amazing juice.

After what felt like forever, we got a table. Not much time passed and then we heard the "IT'S BURGER TIME" call. Everyone started cheering and jumping out of their seats (and by everyone, I mean the two males at my table.) About 10 more minutes passed, and we had the burgers in front of us. It's important to note too that we only ordered 2 for the three of us to share because we didn't want to be burger hogs. We'd prepared a plan on how we were going to split the burgers up once they were brought out. The plan was all shot to hell once the burgers were on the table and it was every man/woman for themselves. I probably got the least amount of the actual burger, but dear Lord it was perfect. At one point, I think I blacked out and I do remember eating most of the burger with my eyes closed. I heard that it's hard to eat the burger without making audible noises, so I tried to eat it silently. It WAS impossible and I know that I made quite a few disturbing noises.

What makes this burger so much better than every other piece of beef I've consumed in my life? First, it's the meat to cheese to bun ratio. They have it absolutely perfected. There's just a little bit of bun draping over the most perfect patty you've tasted in your life. The taste profile of it reminded me a lot of an In-n-Out burger, with a thicker patty and even juicier than the West Coast version. The patty itself was simply delicious. They don't put much on it, just cheese, homemade pickles and grilled onions, but that's because the patty speaks for itself and there's no need to mask the taste.

People told us that we're stupid for waiting so long and everyone's entitled to their opinions, but they're the stupid ones. My dinner at H&F can now be considered the best meal I've ever had in my life and I thank every single person at H&F for making that possible."
