Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood have a massive hit on their hands. Having debuted their rockin' collaboration "Somethin' Bad" at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards, the song officially debuts on this week's Billboard Hot Country Songs, a tally that measures a song's impact and reach in the industry. Moving 107,000 digital copies, the track rides in at No. 5, besting such songs as Thomas Rhett's "Get Me Some Of That" and Rascal Flatts' "Rewind" for the Top 10 spot.

Elsewhere on the Billboard charts, "Somethin' Bad," the second single from Lambert's upcoming Platinum, strikes to the mountain on Country Digital Songs and No. 48 on Country Airplay. Both stats are quite impressive considering the song has not gone for official radio adds. Rumor has it: the song was expected to hit radio airwaves June 9, but the star power here is just too good to wait that long. Sales wise, this is Lambert's best-selling week of her career.

As AXS previously reported, "Somethin' Bad" is the first in-studio collaboration between country music's leading ladies, quite the feat in the modern era. The last big hit between two females came with Reba McEntire and Linda Davis' 1993 ballad "Does He Love You," a song written by Sandy Knox and Billy Stritch.

Previously, Underwood and Lambert have taken the stage together at the 2010 ACM Awards with "Travelin' Band" (Creedence Clearwater Revival). Of course, they were joined by Brad Paisley and John Fogerty on guitar. A rightful collaboration was a long time in the making; that's for sure! Also, during a summer concert in 2011, the two divas took the stage for a rousing mashup of "Before He Cheats" and "Gunpowder and Lead," two notable rock-inspired hits.

"Somethin' Bad" itself is one of the catchiest releases of the year, certainly keeping time with hits by Florida Georgia Line and Luke Bryan. As AXS laid out in full here, this Lambert-Underwood fusion could prove to be the song of the summer. The Thelma & Louise imagery is enough to get fans hitting that "buy" button on all digital retailers. Considering both artists' vast catalog of heartfelt and deeply meaningful songs, a fun song like this is nice to have on the playlist.
