Volcom’s TD2 is up to the task, employing varying degrees of breathable and waterproof materials to ensure water is kept out where most needed and breathability is unhindered in where heat builds up. YKK Aquaguard zippers contribute as well, added to a variety of other niceties that include 4-way stretch flex zones for unrestricted movement, Lycra hand gaitors, brushed tricot lined handwarmer pockets, a goggle pocket, jacket-to-pant interface, and more.
The two schools of thought on developing outerwear are this: A) Waterproofing comes first and foremost. If you are dry on the outside, you are warm. B) Higher breathability, combined with just just enough waterproofing, creates a more comfortable experience. Our TD2 Technology combines both A and B. The garment is designed to shed water as efficiently as possible, collecting no water along seams to avoid leakage. We identify areas with the most weather contact, using equal amount of waterproofing and breathability.
