Who Is FKJ?
"Introducing the funky upbeat felicity that is French Kiwi Juice (FKJ), who happened to be introduced to me by my all-time favorite producer, Star Slinger. Also signed to Jet Jam, FKJ shares a relatively similar style of production with Star Slinger’s dance tracks, but Kiwi seems to always bring a euphoric funk, which could ignite any 1970’s dance party (it says a lot that I could see my parents dancing to his music… and that’s not an insult). I wish I had songs like his remix of Eli Paperboy Reed’s “Woohoo” to dance to when I was 6 years old. I’m not kidding you; every time I listen to his music, I envision a disco ball above my head while I’m bobbing my head and jerking my arms like a lunatic. I just can’t get enough of that jazzy funk. Those winding synths and upright bass notes alongside the old school vocal samples and vinyl crackles help bring back soul and funk music, with a transformed modern feel. But what I love most about his music is how positive it all is. From his sample choices, like William De Vaughn’s “Be Thankful For What You Got”, to the reoccurring uplifting chords, FKJ shoots positive vibes straight into your bloodstream. Much love for this dude."
