"Everybody Goes to AghaRTA "

AghaRTA Jazz Centrum Review By Paula K.: Dublin, Ireland
When I heard the words "jazz" and "cave" together I was already sold, but I wasn't expecting the house band to be anything special. But from the moment they started the energy and pure enthusiasm invigorated the room. The most exciting version of Norwegian Wood I have ever heard preceded Mission Impossible and then mixed into some original compositions by the lead guitarist that were incredible and I am still humming a week later. I thought the highlight had come with Hey Joe, but then the band played their final song, explaining that the club had been founded the day after Miles Davis died and named after one of his albums and then proceeded to play "So What" with a genuine affection. What a show! I was so impressed by the sound quality in the venue too. I couldn't believe how well all the instruments blended. This band was clearly in their element. I have to say a word about the pianist who was not only brilliant and loving every moment, but added a level of musical comedy that had the audience laughing out loud. For 250Kr we got nearly 3 hours of excellent quality music - definitely value for money. This will be my permanent stop on my next trip to Prague.
