About Marquee LV
In January, a few core members of the GDD™ crew ventured into the Nevadan desert in pursuit of higher levels of party. Vegas was our destination, and we were there on *coughs* business, to review Marquee, the brand new super-club from the TAO group. Marquee’s inside the Cosmopolitan, a brand new hotel and casino on the Strip, and opened on New Year’s Eve with a Subliminal Session from Erick Morillo, alongside cameos from Jay-Z, Kanye West and members of Coldplay. As expected from both Vegas and the TAO group, no expense has been spared with this incredible venue which boasts one of the most impressive residential lineups outside of Ibiza, including:

Above & Beyond / ATB / BT / Chuckie / Cosmic Gate / Dirty South / EC Twins / Erick Morillo / Gareth Emery / Kaskade / Markus Schulz / Roger Sanchez / Sander Van Doorn,  each joined by a grip of outside talent.

What Marquee is seeking to promote is an innovative nightlife experience, passing itself off as both a night and a day club; covering all bases in a city that never sleeps. Kitted out with a cracking custom built Funktion One soundsystem, we were there to catch the opening night of Roger Sanchez‘s Release Yourself Residency, and the guy absolutely smashed it. Seeming to be in his element, for a moment it felt like we were on the terrace at Amnesia, and it makes all the difference hearing a world-class DJ on one of the best sound-systems money can buy.

As a clubbing experience Marquee indulges you in an intense audio-visual experience, with an overbearing 40 foot LED wall behind the DJ booth, and an ascending drawbridge lined with go-go dancers. A custom programmed iPad inside the booth, allows each DJ to trigger streamers, smoke canons and other pyrotechnics from above and onto the dance floor, in combination with a build or drop. Half inside, and half outdoors, this Spring, Marquee’s going to be open in the daytime, with cabanas lining the outside area, each with its own individual infinity pool, so clubgoers can kick it while listening to scores of DJs on the outside terrace.

For some time now Vegas has needed a go-to club for EDM that’s open all year round, and I think Marquee may just be the answer. With recent shows from Steve Angello and Benny Benassi, it seems to cater for your regular Vegas clubber, while maintaining the musical integrity required to draw fans of EDM.  I’ll leave you with a final verdict from the bossman, Mr. Jonah Berry:

“Marquee is the next big thing to happen to the EDM scene in Vegas. With world class production, internationally-known artists and DJs, and a club layout that is largely unmatched by any other nightclub in Vegas, the new Marquee at The Cosmopolitan is sure to be the spot of attraction for all dance music lovers in Sin City. The overall layout of the nightclub is very well done: multiple bars, a great dancefloor aimed at an enormous state-of-the-art LED wall, and an outside area with another bar and private cabanas equipped with personal jacuzzis. I can’t wait to see what this place is going to be like this summer.”

Marquee LV Review By Angela T. : Orange County, CA
One of top clubs in Vegas with different DJs nightly and with 4 different sections (boom box room, library, main room, and pool are).  I had a big party come here on a Saturday.  There were too many of us to go through VIP, so we were told to send the rest of the group through guestlist.  My friends were referred by friends to go through promoter Jesse Gates.  He is one sexy beast!  Eye candy for sure!  Besides that, he's an awesome promoter who takes good care of his clients.  He definitely took care of my entourage.  If you need a # for VIP tables or guestlist, hit Jesse up! text: 702..860..8229.  Definitely will be going through him for cabana/daybed services in the summer for Marquee.

Anyway, we came here when Kaskade was performing.  The set was amazing; he played so many good songs.  We didn't want to leave to check out the other rooms in the venue, especially because it was a very crowded night.  There were some crazy people in the crowd too.  Saw some girl fall from above the couches onto the couches.  Her friends helped her up and she just got up and pretended like nothing happened!

The bathroom lines were ridiculous loooong.  One of my girlfriends tried to sneak into the men's restroom to go, she's crazy too!  One of our friends walked by and said there was a hidden restroom, and so we were on our way.  Apparently, the venue let's you use this if you bought a table.  So awesome.

All in all, it was good times.  Until next time...
