Who Is Sacred Mother Tongue?
Sacred Mother Tongue is a 4-piece British metal band from Northampton initially formed in 2004. The current line up (since 2008) consists of Darrin South (Vocals), Andy James (Guitar), Josh Gurner (Bass) and Lee Newell (Drums).
The band has performed at music festivals throughout the UK including Download Festival 2009, 2011, and Sonisphere Festival 2010. Metal Hammer Magazine has called them "The most convincing young British Metal band to emerge in a long time".
The band released their 4 track "A Light Shines..." EP on 3 September and their "Out Of The Darkness" album is to be released 4 March 2013 via EMI Label Services and Transcend Records.
Guitarist Andy James is widely regarded as the best breakthrough guitarist in the UK with a developed fan base of his own. He has released four solo albums called Machine, In the Wake of Chaos, Kaos 7, and self titled Andy James. Andy has specialised in teaching lead techniques for Heavy Rock and Metal. He has also taught guitarists around the world through his successful range of tuition DVDs with the Guitar Community.
He is highly influenced by the likes of Andy Timmons, John Petrucci, Paul Gilbert and Adam Dutkiewicz. He has full endorsement with ESP Guitars, Laney Amplification and EMG, Inc.
Sacred Mother Tongue's debut single "Two Thousand Eight Hundred" got to number 4 on the UK Rock chart receiving excellent reviews, making their debut album one of the most hotly anticipated metal releases in a long time.
The debut album, The Ruin of Man was released on Transcend Records was released in 2009.
The band released the "A Light Shines..." EP on 3 September 2012 through Transcend Records and EMI Label Services. Their second full length album will be entitled "Out Of The Darkness" and is expected early 2013. (Read More)
