Videos : Beyoncé : XO
With an estimated worth of $300 million, there appears to be no expense spared on Beyonce's new video for her single XO.
In fact, the singer is seen wielding a bat made of faux hundred dollar bills in the clip.
Showing off her lean and toned figure in tight denim, Queen Bey croons about summer love as she gallivants around Brooklyn's Coney Island in the atmospheric scenes.
The visually stunning short film, released online on Monday, is off of the 32-year-old's self-titled album which has just become the fastest-ever seller on iTunes.
The video opens with Bey standing in front of a wall made of flashing multi-coloured light bulbs.
The pop queen flashes her black bra underneath a white tank top as she implores 'baby, kiss me' in the stunning ballad.
Scenes from a carnival at night time flash by as young men and women can be seen riding bumper cars.
Bey can next be seen riding the Cyclone, wearing a snap back cap emblazoned with the image of Notorious B.I.G in the mostly handheld footage, evocative of Harmony Karine's repetitive visual feast Spring Breakers.
The montage lingers on still images of various iconic establishments, creating an atmospheric tapestry of the beloved island boardwalk.
As the song reaches it's peak, Bey can be seen wearing a flashing pink bow atop her head.
As Beyonce enjoys various amusements she also cheers on street performers who she proceeds to compete in a dance off with.
But that's not all the dancing the pop star does in the video, as she can be seen performing a silly choreographed dance with some teenage girls in an arcade as they stand atop a carnival skee-ball game.
In the lighthearted bit of choreography, Bey makes hearts and X's with her hands to accompany the lyrical refrain 'you love me like XO'.
It then intercuts scenes of a man and woman passionately making out with Bey onstage before a packed audience leading them through her XO dance.
As the screen explodes in fireworks, she can be seen brandishing a massive baseball bat made of money.
Photographer Terry Richardson directed the visually stunning montage for the song co-written by OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder, also the man behind one of Beyonce's biggest hits Halo.
The singer-songwriter and producer has also crafted huge hits for Leona Lewis, Bleeding Love Jordin Sparks, Battlefield, and Kelly Clarkson's, Already Gone.
The self-titled album, the US superstar's fifth, was released out of the blue on Friday, and includes 14 songs, 17 videos, and collaborations with husband Jay Z, Drake and Frank Ocean.
An Apple spokeswoman said the iTunes Store sold 828,773 albums in three days.
On the day of its release, iTunes - which is Apple's music download division - said the release was 'an unprecedented strategic move by the artist to deliver music and visual content directly to her fans when she wants to and how she wants to, with no filter'.
With no 'middle man', fans are being encouraged to form their own opinions after listening to and watching the tracks.
Beyonce added: 'I didn't want to release my music the way I've done it. I am bored with that. I feel like I am able to speak directly to my fans. There's so much that gets between the music, the artist and the fans.
'I felt like I didn't want anybody to give the message when my record is coming out. I just want this to come out when it's ready and from me to my fans.'
The singer's fifth solo album opted out of the standard three month marathon of promotional stints, reviews, and dropping individual singles.
Instead, the trend setter released the entire album in one fell swoop without any fanfare.
Currently the offering is an iTunes exclusive with a retail price of $15.99 with 14 tracks, a release date for the physical CD has yet to be announced.
