Entranced by the LG G Flex and its curved frame? Well you can now claim one for your very own, if you’re an AT&T customer. The Big Blue carrier is now taking pre-orders for its version of the G Flex. And while AT&T hasn’t announced an official launch date for the device, its website says that pre-orders are slated to begin shipping on February 4. Pricing for AT&T’s LG G Flex is set at $299.99 with a two-year contract, $34.75 per month with AT&T Next 12, $26.73 per month with AT&T Next 18 or $649.99 without a commitment.
The LG G Flex that’s headed for AT&T’s shelves is similar to the international model that was introduced last year. That means it’s packing a 6-inch 720p OLED display, 2.2GHz quad-core processor, 32GB of storage, 2GB of RAM and a 3500mAh battery. The back of the G Flex houses a 13-megapixel shooter complete with volume and power buttons like those found on the G2. Around on the front of the unit is a 2.1-megapixel shooter.
It’s not uncommon for Android to appear on hardware that’s more unusual than the typical full-touch slab, such as Samsung’s flip phones or this G Flex, but those types of devices rarely make their way onto U.S. shores. LG is changing that with the G Flex, and for that I’ve got to give ‘em a tip of my hat. We’ll just have to wait and see how well the G Flex does with consumers. But it’s great to see the Life’s Good crew launching the G Flex across multiple US carriers and giving consumers the opportunity to pick up a new smartphone that’s a bit different than most of the other slabs on store shelves. For a quick look at the G Flex in action, you can check out our hands-on with the device during CES 2014 down above.
