Gadgets : Vertu Signature Touch

After ditching Symbian in favor of Android with the Ti, British luxury smartphone manufacturer Vertu follows last fall’s latest iteration of the Constellation with its third Android-powered phone: the Signature Touch. Powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, the Signature Touch boasts a 4.7″ 1080p display along with Cat 4 LTE radio, NFC capabilities and Qi wireless charging. Furthermore, the luxe design packs a 13-megapixel rear-facing Hasselblad camera, 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera, 64GB of on-board storage, speakers tuned by Bang & Olufsen, Dolby Digital Plus surround sound support, iPass’s complimentary global WiFi, Kaspersky security and Silent Circle communication encryption. As always, Vertu’s renowned concierge service and usual combination of hand-assembly and premium materials – in this case, a Grade 5 titanium case, zirconia ear pillow, fifth-generation sapphire crystal screen, and the choice of calf, lizard or alligator skin – come standard.

Vertu’s Signature Touch will soon be available at authorized retailers around the world with prices starting at $10,300 USD.

The Cube, which is due out later this year at a cost of $1200 USD, features Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, two extruders for multi-color printing, a print resolution of 70 microns and the ability print objects up to 6-inches cubed. The filament will be available in a choice red, black, white and a yet undisclosed “natural” color.
