Interview : Fergie : Leaked Nudes And Musical Pursuits
Fergie stopped by L.A.'s Power 106 to talk about her "planned hiatus," her new single "L.A. Love (La La)" and celebrity nudes. Watch the interview below:
After years of touring and recording with the Black Eyed Peas and as a solo star, Fergie stepped out of the limelight to have a son, who recently turned 1. Now that she's a mom, the singer said she tries to limit her time in the studio. She's also been teaching her son important life lessons, like how "to turn up."
When asked what brought her back into music, Fergie said it was the pull of the L.A. sound, which dominates rap and R&B right now. "I am a student," she told Power 106's Big Boy. "I've been watching the evolution of music... from Kendrick [Lamar] to [DJ] Mustard, it felt like L.A. had an explosion." She got into the studio with DJ Mustard and "it was easy... He would play me this music... he really has carved out this niche for himself." Mustard ended up producing her first single, which sends "some happy Cali vibes."
On a non-musical note, Big Boy wondered, "With all the celebrities that have been hacked, are you nervous?" Fergie replied that she was, sparking a round of jokes about possible nude selfies.
