Listen To Will.I.Am ft. Sandro Silva : Bang Bang

Before its official release next week, pop artist will.i.am released his “#willpower” album to YouTube on Tuesday. Many of the artists featured on the upcoming set have fans talking, but one track in particular is creating a stir online. Bonus song “Bang Bang” is solely credited to will.i.am yet a mystery female appearance on that track has others wondering if Britney Spears is featured on it.

Spears and will.i.am previously collaborated on “Scream & Shout,” the biggest selling single thus far from “#willpower.” There is more star power on the new album with appearances by Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Chris Brown and others. They are all credited as featured acts on the album's tracklisting, but there is one song where Will sings with a secret artist.

“Bang Bang” will be included on "The Great Gatsby" soundtrack and it is also a bonus tune on “#willpower.” Black Eyed Peas member will.i.am is solely credited on the song, though, there is another vocalist on it who sings the chorus. Spears fans are divided in believing whether or not Britney is singing on the track. It opens with an old Vaudevillian-like sound as Will talks about the love of his life before the bass drops and it becomes a club number.

The singer who some assume to be Britney repeatedly sings, “Bang! Bang! Shot 'em with a bang!” Her digitized twang voice then sounds strikingly similar to Spears' singing in the line: “Love 'em down, down, and shot my baby with a bang!” Britney or not, that chorus proves to be the best part of the whole will.i.am song.

Some fans argue that Spears is not featured on “Bang Bang” because Will.i.am would have credited her as so on the track. Others note that “Smile Mona Lisa,” another bonus song on “#willpower,” also only lists Will as solo despite featuring uncredited vocals by Nicole Scherzinger. They say what happened to “Smile Mona Lisa” for Scherzinger could be the same case for Spears on “Bang Bang.”

Maybe Will.i.am got a random singer that sounds like Spears on “Bang Bang” just to inspire discussions like this over his new album or maybe he was just too lazy to credit her. In any case, do you think Britney Spears is featured on “Bang Bang”? Give the song a listen and sound off in the comments below.

Will.i.am's “#willpower” album will be released on Tuesday, April 23. Spears is currently recording her eighth studio album.

UDPATE: Well, it was fun speculating, but will.i.am told a French radio station that Britney Spears is not featured on "Bang Bang." He said that an unknown L.A. singer named Shabia is the female vocal on the track (in the album's liner notes, she is credited as: Shelby Spalione).

Despite "Bang Bang" not being a new Britney track, we will still get new music from her soon. Spears announced on April 17 that she recorded a new single entitled "Ooh La La" for the upcoming "The Smurfs 2" film. The release date for that song has not yet been announced.
