Listen To Kaleida : Picture You

Last year saw minimalist electro-pop London duo Kaleida post a handful of intricate songs online to big buzz. This week, they’re back and sounding stronger than ever on cunning new track, “Picture You”.

Prickles of xylophone-like electronics open the song, with crisp synths biting at heels and Christina Wood’s folky tones quivering above sparse arrangements. Coltish percussion and haunting vocal interplay bolster the chorus, where all the track’s components are cleverly lugged together, before terse strings and purposeful beats meet on the second verse. Slowly but surely, “Picture You”, claws at you from the darkness. Kaleida really know how to straddle the line between leftfield glitch and hooky electronic music, and it’s pure joy to hear them achieve this again on their latest effort.

The duo release their debut EP this year, with more details to come. “Picture You” is available now as a free download. Catch them at this year’s Farr Festival in London (18 – 20 July).
