News : Fall Out Boy Releases Centuries Hyperlapse Video

Fall Out Boy have unveiled a new video for forthcoming single 'Centuries' – scroll down to watch now.

The single, which was announced last week, is the first track to be taken from the band's forthcoming, as-yet-untitled sixth album.

The new video is a timelapse version of the final edit, which will be unveiled shortly. The current version pays homage to Fall Out Boy's hometown of Chicago, showing black and white images of the city.

Speaking about the track to DIY, bassist Pete Wentz said, "The idea of the song is a David vs Goliath story. When we were growing up it was like, ‘We'll never be U2 because we’re from the suburbs of Chicago and nothing happens here,' but the idea now is to inspire that kid – you can be the person up onstage and it’s only the power of your belief that is going to get you there… I think people will have an immediate visceral reaction it. The kind of art I want to be involved in should inspire a reaction!"

A casting call posted by Infectious Magazine, meanwhile, hints that the final version of the video will be based around a "Roman theme".

The album will be the follow-up to 2013's 'Save Rock And Roll', which was released after a four-year hiatus.
