Hotels : Punta Tragara Hotel

Some places hold a very special type of fascination. Almost always they are places of indescribable beauty, because what ever words you choose will fail to convey the sensations aroused in you.

The Punta Tragara Hotel is one such jewel, standing as it does in a unique location overlooking the blue capri sea right at the legendary Faraglioni cliffs. This extraordinary and unique setting, together with the hotel’s striking architecture, a creation of the genius of Le Corbusier, can now be admired from recently refurbished splendour, thanks to which the hotel blends in with nature even more harmonically, respecting and enhancing the island’s uncontaminated beauty.

This is what we are proposing, a unique luxury place in Capri and daring design, sculpted out of the rock face, where no two rooms are the same and where nature reigns supreme in a natural setting where space has created a stronghold of incomparable beauty where emotions constantly surprise and delight.

The 5 stars Hotel Punta Tragara Capri dates back to 1920 circa when Engineer Vismara built a private villa on the suggestion of the famous French architect Le Corbusier.

During the Second World War is was used as the headquarters in Italy for the American Command and hosted such famous guests as General Eisenhower and Sir Winston Churchill.

In 1968 Count Manfredi bought the villa and turned it into the Luxury Hotel Punta Tragara, taking on the management of the property.
