Cafeteria Review By Jessica L.: Evanston, IL
"I've been wanting to go here ever since I passed by a few months ago. The first great thing about the place is that it's 24 hours! That's always a plus in the city.

Came here for lunch at around 1pm and even though the spot was packed, we didn't have to wait for a party of 4. We were seated inside, but the openness of the restaurant felt really great. One thing that was a bit annoying was that it was really loud. The combination of loud music and lots if people made it difficult to talk to one another. I wouldn't have minded it if it was dinner, but for lunch, it was a bit too loud.

Food:
Smoked salmon eggs Benedict
Smoked Gouda and bacon Mac and cheese

The smoked salmon eggs Benedict was very unique. The poached egg, and salmon is not very special, but instead of the am English muffin, it's placed on top of potato pancakes which were more like crab cakes. Very soft and so much easier to eat than tough english muffins! Delicious. The light vinegar salad on the side was great as well.

Smoked Gouda and bacon Mac and cheese was very creamy and delicious. The Gouda cheese was not overwhelming at all. I wish they mixed in the bacon into the Mac and cheese instead of just sprinkling some on top, but regardless the crunchy salty bacon complimented it very well.

I also tasted my friends lemon ricotta pancakes and wow. That was delicious. I'm not a fan of syrup so I like pancakes with a lot of flavor, and this lemon pancake was citrusy and NOT too sweet so it was great! The blueberries on top worked really well with the citrus of the pancakes. Yum.

All in all, good fun atmosphere, lots of younger people (20s - 30s), friendly service and good food. I would definitely want to come here at like 3am one say just to see how the 24/7 thing works!"
