News : J-Law On Miley: "It's Disgusting Young Sex Sells'
Jennifer Lawrence has seemed to hit out at Miley Cyrus, branding the way young women are sexualised by the media as "disgusting".
The actress was quizzed about the example set by Mi-Cy - who wore a number of revealing outfits to the 2013 MTV EMA on Sunday (November 10) - where she told BBC's Newsnight at the premiere of her new flick, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire last night: "It is a part of the entertainment industry that sells.
"Sex sells, and for some disgusting reason young sex sells even more."
While she didn't directly namecheck Miley, the 23-year old went on to explain: "‘For some people, that’s how they feel best, that’s how they feel sexy."
J-Law added that as long as she appears on the big screen, she will make "conscious decisions" to set a good example.
Her comments come after Cyrus' ex-Liam Hemsworth told The Metro that young fans need girls like J-Law's Hunger Games character Katniss Everdeen, stating: "There should be more strong females on screen.
"I think it’s such a great thing about these stories is that it is about a young courageous woman who is managing to stay herself throughout these horrible events."
He added: "I think it’s great. Jennifer is such a larger than life person – she is a good role model."
