Don't give yourself a heart attack, girl! On Nov. 21 former Disney star Demi Lovato released a new racy music video for her upbeat dance track "Neon Lights."
The video features the former child star, 21, throwing a raging dance party while wearing vibrant neon makeup. Clips of the powerhouse singer dancing naked in a pool of water are spliced throughout.
The mature look marks a definite transformation for the singer, who has, since news of her 2010 rehab stint went public, released a series of emotional power ballads like 2011's "Skyscraper."
Lovato was the only known Disney star to check into rehab while still on the children's network. She left her show Sonny With a Chance in 2010 to receive treatment for "physical and emotional issues."
"When I was in treatment, I honestly thought my career was over," she recently told Entertainment Weekly. "But when I came out of treatment, I had more supportive fans than ever."
She's currently signed on to do a memoir, which she admits she hasn't started yet.
"I'm battling with internal thoughts on how honest I should be," the X Factor judge told EW. "Yes, I've been very honest, but if people really knew how dark and deep my struggles got -- not just with my eating disorder but with drugs and alcohol -- they'd be really shocked. But I'll most likely end up saying everything. Maybe it'll help other people in the industry who are headed down the wrong path."
Her first single off the new album, "Heart Attack," peaked at no. 10 on the US Billboard Hot 100. She's also released the single "Let It Go" for the soundtrack to Disney's new animated film Frozen.
