About Dysart's
Dysart's is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We offer a restaurant that makes you feel like family, serving real Maine food. We pride ourselves on being a "small community" offering gas and fuel, private showers, ATM, stamps and mail, calling cards, fax, Comcheck, high tech truck wash, phones, ice, propane filling (9-5), a well lit parking lot, a full service garage and a travel store that carries almost any item you could possibly want or need.

Dysart's Review By Heath M. : Boston, MA
"I don't know if Maine's really how life should be, but Dysart's is without a doubt how diners should be.

When I think of my undergraduate and pre-graduate years at UMaine (I lived in the Bangor area twice), Dysart's figures heavily in some of my finest memories. Many Saturday late nights were spent chowing down on blueberry pancakes, ham steaks, home fries and coffee...this was back when I could fall asleep after having caffeine...smoking too many cigarettes and hanging out with friends.

Despite the fact that we're talking the early 90s here, the fact of the matter is, Dysart's hasn't really changed too much. Sure, it's not smoky anymore and that's a sign of the times. They have a slightly updated decor and a shrine to their baked goods. The menu now has pictures of the food...in color even!

But, nearly 20 years later after my first visit the blueberry pancakes are still made with those sweet, plump little Maine blueberries, they are still huge, you can still get the best woopie pies in the state and they plunk down what seems like a gallon of coffee -- all at a reasonable price.

The service is also still really great, it epitomizes the difference between Massachusetts and Maine -- they are so damn nice!

Truthfully, I don't miss Bangor much -- I'm a city boy after all, but I do miss Dysart's. When it comes to diner food, this is my benchmark of how it should be and always will be."
