Who Are The Capital Kings?
Gotee Records proudly announces the signing of highly anticipated electronic-pop duo, Capital Kings. Originally from Washington D.C., Capital Kings is comprised of Franklin, Tenn. residents, Jonathan White and Cole Walowac. The duo has been creating quite a buzz over the past year, infusing an elements of pop, rock, electronic dance music, hip hop and rap into their songs. Capital Kings has already begun to make their mark, remixing on some of the industry’s most acclaimed artists’ records including TobyMac, Group 1 Crew, Mandisa and Britt Nicole. To kick-off their signing to Gotee Records, Capital Kings releases their debut EP, I Feel So Alive.

Capital Kings Review
Get ready to move with Capital Kings' electronic dance rhythms on their self-titled debut album. Hailing from Washington D.C., thus the band name, long-time friends Jonathan White and Cole Walowac are multi-instrumentalists and self-taught music programmers who initially approached Toby McKeehan (artist TobyMac) of GOTEE Records with their music.

These two young men were actually in the same church nursery as toddlers in D.C. After moving to Massachusetts, they met up again in middle school where they began playing in the youth group band. The team mixes rap and pop music with electronic beats for a unique style in the Christian music industry. Due to their talents they initially became known as remix masters, being asked to work for top artists like TobyMac, Mandisa and Group 1 Crew to remix some of their music. However, these guys are talented writers of their own songs, many of which have already debuted in the U.S. during the 2012 Winter Jam Tour.

The album kicks off with "All the Way", a song on living life in all the ways we're meant to, not letting fear and doubt keep us from telling others about Christ. "We Belong as One" features TobyMac and talks about living and working together in unity. Throughout the album there will be several lines and phrases that will connect with youth especially, calling up current life-images: I'll be the GPS when you've lost your phone; I'll be the song that's rockin' in your headphones. The songs stay positive, though they make mention of this life's trials.

Overall, Capital Kings' lyrics are uplifting, pointing the way in which we are meant to live as Christians, calling out the type of love and life we are to share with others, and encouraging us to embrace each day we’re given and live it to the fullest. The album rounds out with "Paradigm", featuring Soul Glow Activatur of Family Force 5. Here is where we get the best feel for just how much Capital Kings is capable of mixing and making beats.

My guess is that "I Feel So Alive" will become the radio favorite by which many come to know who Capital Kings are.
