NFL Experience Driven By GMC Review By Ricky Ricardo : BrooWaha
The weather Gods looked downed favorably upon New Orleans just in time for the Vince Lombardi Trophy Ceremony. The rain cleared out and the sun made a stellar appearance in the afternoon. A large contingent of Media greeted the FedEx truck as the driver arrived by police escort with the Vince Lombardi Trophy to the New Orleans Ernest N.Morial Convention Center, outside Hall B.

Super Bowl XLIV champion and former (once a Saint-always a Saint-WHO DAT!) New Orleans Saints running back Deuce McCallister carefully took control of the Vince Lombardi Trophy. McCallister led a celebratory commencement parade with special guest Saintsations (New Orleans Saints Cheerleaders) and a group of young icons the Augustine High School Purple Knights Marching 100. McCallister carried the trophy from the FedEx delivery truck into its place at the center of the NFL Experience where it will remain on display just before Super Bowl on Saturday, February 2nd. Fans quickly lined up to have their photos taken along side of the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Deuce McCallister and Mark Ingram signed various memorabilia (jerseys, helmets, footballs, jackets, photos and trading cards) for fans. No trip to the NFL Experience would be complete without a couple of strolling Brass Bands to energized the crowd.

The NFL Experience Driven by GMC, pro football's interactive theme park for the entire family, made a return engagement to New Orleans since 2002. The event opened to the public on Wednesday, January 30 and will remain open until Saturday, February 3rd.

The NFL Experience is designed to enlighten and entertain the entire family, the NFL Experience offers inter-active games, displays, entertainment, football clinics led by current NFL players, free autograph sessions by NFL players, a memorabilia show, the official NFL SHOP and more. The NFL Experience is a great way for football fans to enjoy and partake in an electrifying atmosphere of Super Bowl XLVII if they plan on attending the Super Bowl or not. New Orleans Saints players Malcolm Jenkins and Greg Romeus led football clinics.

The NFL Experience Driven by GMC is a workout in and of itself. Covering more than 850,000 square feet, fans can get a good workout while walking around the Convention Center Floor. The NFL Experience Driven by GMC provides visitors of all ages with an opportunity to test their football skills in a variety of fun interactive attractions including: Quarterback Challenge, a passing accuracy game; Run to Daylight, time 40 yard dash, Extra Point kick, a field goal kick game. The kid-friendly NFL Rush Zone offers scaled-down versions of games and attractions for children 3-10 years old and NFL Play 60 Youth Football Clinics, targeted for kids ages 5-12,allowed participants to engage in non-contact action while learning lessons on teamwork from current and former players. A doctors was on hand to speak to the kids about safety before they stepped onto the field for one of the NFL Play 60 Youth Football Clinics. Hellas Sports Construction installed the 29,000 square feet of their premium-quality synthetic turf-Matrix Turf-designed especially for the Clinic Field Fueled by Gatorade at the 21st Annual NFL Experience Driven by GMC at the Ernest N.Morial Convention Center.

Parkway Bakery & Tavern
Eats : USA : LA : New Orleans : Parkway Bakery & Tavern

About Parkway Bakery & Tavern
A block or so off Bayou St. John, some enterprising, appreciative folks lovingly resurrected this circa-1922, long-boarded-up and once-much-beloved po' boy shop and bakery. The bright interior and framed mementos still elicit flashbacks from old customers and deep pleasure in just about everyone. No innovations here, just classic po' boys (the falling-apart roast beef, which many believe to be the best in the city; the sine non qua fried oyster; and our go-to, the hot sausage and cheese topped with roast beef debris) and great sweet potato fries. The bar is a good hang as well, and you can walk off a meal strolling the pretty bayou after lunch.

Parkway Bakery & Tavern Review By Danielle S. : Houston, TX
What can I say about Parkway that hasn't already been said in approximately sixty-seven million reviews?  You just have to go to experience it for yourself.  I was so impressed, we ended up visiting this place twice in one weekend trip--and I'm already planning my attack for subsequent visits.

When I asked my friend, a native New Orleanian, where we should go to get a great poboy, she had an answer right away.  "Okay, I'll take you to the best place in town."  I wasn't about to argue, so I just got in the car.  When we arrived on a Friday night, I found myself at Parkway Bakery.

We joined the queue and considered what we needed--my sister and I decided almost instantaneously on the golden fried shrimp po-boy.  Don't attempt the large unless you have an extra stomach or are sharing with a friend--a "small" is fine although it should be more aptly named "regular".  Sis ordered cheese fries and I decided I couldn't resist the siren call of bread pudding along with my sandywich.

The cheese fries were good, and the bread pudding was absolutely divine--but the next time we darkened Parkway's door we decided getting anything other than the po-boy was a little overkill.  Don't get me wrong, they were both pretty amazing, but anything other than a bag of chips felt like gilding the lily.

Don't be too discomfited by the long lines, which pretty much always stretch out the door onto the patio--both times we were here, our orders were out fast and hot.  Closed Tuesdays, and according to the photos on the walls, if you're lucky, you just might run into the President and First Lady getting their poboy fix.

Whiskey Blue
Bars : USA : LA : New Orleans : Whiskey Blue

About Whiskey Blue
See and be seen in this modern, comfortable update of the classic bar. Wander along the stained cement floor under the high ceiling, and peruse the collection of jazz, blues, and rock-and-roll photos by Jim Marshall lining the walls.

Saunter up to the exceptional mahogany bar, highlighted by a stunning blue-lit back bar and an amber-lit front bar. In the middle of the room is a common table that can accommodate 40 as well as a plush blue bed, with banquet couches filling out the remaining space.

Wireless High Speed Internet Access is available.

Whiskey Blue Review By Shercole K. : New Orleans, LA
I went to an event here tonight. Its always been one of my favorite hotel bars so of course I enjoyed. The staff friendly as always. Bartender talked to me the whole night and telling me all the great things about the cocktails and how he made them, even made the drinks extra pretty and styled it for me to take pictures for a blog I wanted to write lol. Can't get better than that.  They make amazing Chambord Vodka cocktails. You definitely need to give them a try.

The appetizers flowing through out the room was yummy, mini muffalettas and shish kabobs that definitely kept me just the right amount of full until I left the party.

The music was actually great. Everytime I go to something here, there is always music I know all the words to that I didn't hear in a long time, its almost like they are saying, Shercole you are awesome and I want you to hear some cool songs you use to like.  I guess they can be a bit pricey here, but I like them.

Parking in the area can really such, especially when movies decide to film and put no parking signs on all streets surrounding. So it can be pain. There is a lot across the street that is like $10 for a few hours or if you like hotel parking... hey go for it if you want to spend like $20 or so. If you are lucky you usually can find street parking on the opposite side of the street after 6:45pm to be exact.

Blue Nile Live

Clubs : USA : NO : New Orleans : Blue Nile Live

About Blue Nile Live
Bourbon Street draws the "oohs and aahs" of mainstream tourism publications, but locals know Frenchmen Street is where to go if you want to experience some real New Orleans nightlife. Blue Nile is a Frenchmen Street nightclub housed in one of, if not the oldest building on the famed rue (1832). They consistently draw some of the best local and nationally touring musical acts, and tout a full bar to help ease their patrons into a night. The blue and gold interior inspires a comforting mood, making transitioning from business to pleasure rather simple. The establishment features entertainment on two floors, including an upstairs balcony which looks out over Frenchmen.

Blue Nile Review By Allison L. : Dallas, TX
Yelpers steered me right here!! Wanted to go listen to some live music and possibly hear a brass band. My man is totally in love with the show Treme and had never been to NOLA (gasp!). So on our quick 24 hrs in this amazing city, I decided Frenchman Street was our best bet.

After asking around, I was told by a few to go to the Blue Nile (also that Kermit (musician not the muppet) might show up). We had to pay a $10 cover per person and were told a band was about to come on and that a brass band would be playing after wards. Bingo!

The place is large and open. Lots of stools and a stage that is a little above eye level, not a bad view in the house. Great acoustics. A band started playing and then BAM Big Chief Monk Boudreaux appeared! GAH!!! A Mardi Gras chief....I die. They were amazing and the crowd went nuts! After jamming to them for a while we went upstairs to listen to some other music on their balcony...this place just keep on giving.

Around 1am, Stooges Brass Band came on and were so amazing! I would definitely recommend hearing them sometime whilst in NOLA.

The Blue Nile was a great place to hear music, great location to many other bars on Frenchman street.

Tickets go onsale today right here. Victims of Hurricane Sandy will be glad to know that tickets are priced at $1,000 for entry and $1,500 for the VIP (second level access), to maximize the fundraising during this iconic New Orleans gala.
