Ashley's is my favorite bar in Ann Arbor. Their seasonal menus are chocked full of unique brews from all over the world and at relatively low prices (in regards to craft beer/specialty beer). If you go here, don't order a Bud Light, a Corona, etc....spend so time looking through the pages upon pages of amazing beer. I have never tried any of their speciality whiskey/scotch, but I know from reading the menu is well aged. The food here is also very good. Their burgers are big and tasty and the appetizers are top notch (especially the artichoke dip...literally second to none in my honest opinion). The atmosphere here is relatively loud, but contained (the crowd is more "mature" than your typical university bar). So in short, go here, get a beer you have never tried before, and have a good time!
