Buddha Bar Review By Arno W. : Johannesburg, South Africa
Being absolute Buddha Bar fans (been to Paris, Dubai, Amsterdam & Prague) we were really looking forward to visit the newly opened restaurant in London. Arrival and Reception was very good and friendly, and we were taken to our table immediately. Our table was however located in the main thoroughfare between the bar, waiter station and kitchen. Service was prompt and good, and the staff (however foreign (they were) were very friendly. We were recommended and very good wine (Cabernet Franc), and ordered Papaya Salad, Duck Foie Gras Gyoza and Crunchy Sushi. The Duck and Sushi were very good, however the Papaya Salad was almost tasteless. For main course we ordered the Buddha Bar Platter, which was completely overwhelming in presentation. It was very fresh and very tasteful – very enjoyable. After dinner we went upstairs to the bar area, which was extremely crowded and popular (it was a Friday evening) – we were assisted very quickly and given a table.
