American comfort food done right, Dad's Kitchen put the emphasis on quality and freshness. Food Network star Guy Fieri had good reason to bring his "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" show here and feature Dad's Kitchen in one of the episodes. The down-home spot offers organic chicken, grass fed beef, local organic greens, craft beers, and enticing dishes like the homemade mac n cheese. The menu brims with temptations like pork sliders, hot tuna sandwiches, and meat loaf, as well as vegetarian friendly options. While dinner and lunch are served daily, the weekends bring a breakfast menu that features everything from biscuits and gravy, to Dad's French toast. Happy hour specials run Tuesday through Friday from 2 to 6 pm. Dad's Kitchen also features what it calls "the most beautiful patio in Sacramento," providing a terrific outdoor dining space for guests.

This place is *awesome.* I've been here 3 or 4 times now, and absolutely love their food. The people who work here are super friendly.
I usually get the vegetarian delight (or something along those lines as a name), which is a veggie breakfast sandwich. But, you say, I want meat! Not to worry, I ask them to add bacon and what arrives is a magical creation of a sandwich. Top that off with some of Tapatio or some of the garlic hot sauce they offer and you have a masterpiece.
Seriously, this place is great. Nice spot to hang out and I didn't feel weird getting a table for 1 during Saturday morning busy hours (because they weren't too busy at 11AM!).
