Gear : Watches : 88 Rue du Rhône

Gear : Watches : 88 Rue du Rhône

Don’t go looking for No.88 Rue du Rhône in Geneva – it doesn’t exist. But Elie and Pierre Bernheim, grandsons of the founder of the Raymond Weil brand, have adopted it as the name of a new range of “affordable luxury watches”, which was launched at Selfridges in July. One might see a certain degree of “serendipity” in the fact that 88 is considered such a lucky number in Asia – currently the world’s watch-sales hot spot

With both quartz and mechanical movements, and prices ranging from around £250 ($329.62) to £750 ($988.87), we’re tempted to say take your pick, but you won’t go wrong with the three-hand Double 8 Origin £595 ($784.51).
