Who Is YG?
Keenon Jackson (born March 9, 1990), most known by his stage name YG (short for Young Gangsta), is an African-American rapper and actor. He was signed by Def Jam in 2009 and released his first single titled "Toot It and Boot It", which peaked at #67 on the Billboard Hot 100, in 2010.
After releasing several songs that garnered him a large following on the internet, such as "She A Model" and "Aim Me" he signed to Def Jam. He is working on mixtapes, touring and running his 4Hunnid brand clothing line. . He was also featured in XXL Freshmen Magazine. A song of his entitled "Bitches Ain't Shit", featuring Tyga, and Nipsey Hussle, entered the Hot 100 at #100 and at #11 on the Heatseekers Songs chart. (Read More)
Just Re'd Up 2 Review
One of the west coasts rising stars, YG, is back with a new mixtape called Just Re'd Up 2.
YG's new tape, which is hosted by producer DJ Mustard and DJ Ill Will, is the follow up to his last tape Just Re'd Up. This tape features the likes of Dom Kennedy, Wiz Khalifa, Young Jeezy, Nipsey Hussle, Juicy J, Young Scooter Joe Moses, Ty Dolla Sign, TeeFli, Tory Lanez, and many more.
Hopefully, this feature heavy mixtape doesn't take away from the attention of this former member of the XXL Freshman class. YG has been instrumental in a lot of the west coast's party music scene by appearing on a ton of remixes for the like of E-40 and many others. It's time for YG to step out on his own to finally carve his niche as much more than just a feature artist and a legitimate solo star.
