Who is Baloji?
Baloji was born September 12, 1978 in Lubumbashi in Congo. Born a link illegitimate, he leaves his mother to 3 years and sailed with his father for Belgium, who first settled in Ostend . Baloji feels alienated from his surroundings. It moves away from home and left home at age 16. To house young people, it invests in rap, meets young rappers and formed with them the group Starflam . Due to differences within the group, Baloji leaves the ship in 2004 and turned his back on music. This is a letter from his mother, whom he has not seen since 1981, and won a poetry competition in Paris that pushed him back into the middle. His first solo album, Hotel Impala is thus a response to the letter from his mother, where he tells the story of his life. (Read More)
