Who Is Daddy Yankee?
The Urban Artist Of The Decade

With over eight million albums sold, seven hits number 1 on the Billboard Radio Billboard, a film was a success at the box office, and four albums in the top of the sales charts, including the top-selling Latin album in the decade, according to Billboard, Daddy Yankee is the most relevant Latin urban artist in the world.

Winner of multiple Grammy and Billboard awards has been named one of the most influential people in the world by CNN and Time magazine, is considered the artist who drives the popularity of the musical genre known as reggaeton worldwide.

A constant innovator, Yankee has developed beyond the confines of its genre to become a major figure of urban music. Not only popularized a musical style that revolutionized the musical, also redefined the vision of the artist as the architect of his own destiny and career.

Yankee philanthropic efforts made him the winner of the "Billboard's Spirit of Hope Award" which is given annually to an artist chosen for their commitment to humanitarian aid.

Yankee returned with its first musical production after two years of absence, entitled "World". This album was distributed by Sony and represents the true nature of Daddy Yankee, 13 songs (and three 'bonus track' available on iTunes). The first single from the album "Decontrol" reached the top positions on Billboard's Latin Rhythm charts. Within hours of the launch of "World", the album has reached the number one spot on iTunes Latino and Amazon.com. The album includes the song "World Cry" which was selected by ESPN and Telefutura Latino campaigns to rock the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Perhaps more aimed at an international audience than any of his previous albums, "World" comes after a year where Yankee appeared in over 50 scenarios totally sold worldwide, prompting CNN to name "the figure of the world most influential Hispanic art in the United States and Latin America.
