About Del Posto Ristorante
Del Posto is the ultimate expression of what an Italian restaurant should be. Joe Bastianich, Lidia Bastianich and Mario Batali represent a convergence of different styles and experiences. The restaurant concept generated at Del Posto can best be described as trans-generational: an expression of the evolution of cuisines, menus, service and ambiance that have characterized the history of the Italian dining experience in this country.

Del Posto creates the highest quality dining experience in what is one of the greatest indoor spaces in New York City. Without projecting stilted formality, Del Posto creates an ambiance filled with warmth buoyancy and lightheartedness of the Italian spirit.

Del Posto Ristorante Review BY Ken S.: Manhattan, NY
"Del Posto is a Mario Batali Italian fine dining establishment headed by chef Mark Ladner. I visited this restaurant not a long time after I had come to New York, and was absolutely blown away by the quality of food there. While on my vacation, I decided to pay a visit again for a weekday lunch (the restaurant is open for lunch only during weekdays, and their three-course lunch for $39 per head is arguably one of the best lunch deals in the city). I was blown away again with the type of refined Italian cuisine that the restaurant offers, the kind of flavor and texture that is very well thought out yet not over the top like too many expensive Italian restaurants in the city.

I started out the meal with two appetizers: pumpkin salad and vitello tonnato (classic Italian cold, sliced veal dish in creamy sauce). Both dishes were outstanding, and despite my initial fear, the sauce covering the vitello tonnato was not heavy at all. I proceeded to share a plate of luna piena pasta dish with black truffle butter. The butter was very flavorful if not slightly over-seasoned, and I was craving for more. Both secondi dishes were wonderful as well. While duck breast was one of the most tender duck meats I've had in the city, the slow cooked salmon (along with calamari, cauliflower and hazelnut salad) was literally melting in my mouth for a blissful bite. Del Posto is always well known for its desserts created by pastry chef Brooks Headley, and I was very impressed with the two dessert dishes as well. Pecorino cake with honey gelato and roasted pears was a delightful dish, but I couldn't stop thinking about the browned butter panna cotta. It was unlike any other panna cottas I had tasted in numerous Italian restaurants before, and I absolutely loved the silky texture of the dish that was not overwhelming my taste bud with too much sugar.

Del Posto has perhaps one of the most romantic dining rooms with a live piano performance on the side. The restaurant has an enormous wine menu, and the service was very attentive and professional. Getting a dinner reservation could be a challenge, but the weekday lunch table is very easy to secure. Either for a weekday lunch or a romantic dinner for special occasions, Del Posto will undoubted"
