If you're braving this cold Thursday night to see P!nk's BMO Harris Bradley Center concert, make sure you get there early for her opener, New Politics.

We first caught the Danish alt- rock trio in Austin, Texas, last March during South by Southwest, when it performed an electrifying, exclusive acoustic rooftop performance (at 8 a.m. no less) for Tap Milwaukee. The song was a brand new, little-known tune at the time called "Harlem."

In the months since, "Harlem" has become a signature hit for the band, climbing up to No. 4 on Billboard's alternative rock charts. The band played nearly 300 shows in 2013, opening around the world for major acts like P!nk, Fall Out Boy, Panic! at the Disco and 30 Seconds to Mars.

New Politics isn't slowing down in 2014. The band will be back in Milwaukee Feb. 8 performing a headlining show at the Rave and will spend the summer as the opener for a major Fall Out Boy and Paramore co-headlining tour.

Before the P!nk show Thursday, singer David Boyd, guitarist Soren Hansen and percussionist Louis Vecchio stopped by the Tap Milwaukee studios for our Tap Pre-Show music video series. See their performance of latest single "Tonight You're Perfect" off of last year's "A Bad Girl in Harlem," below.
