Global pop sensations Little Mix embark on their biggest UK tour to date next week.

And the second night will see them at the Metro Radio Arena, just up the road from Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall’s home town of South Shields.

“We’re so excited to be preparing for our first arena tour,” said the girls.

“It’s incredible to think we’ll be playing for so many people every night. We are going to be pulling out all the stops to make sure it’s as unforgettable for our Mixers as it will be for us.”

Perrie, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade recently returned with their second album Salute, which followed their hugely successful debut album DNA.

It showed Little Mix at their exuberant best and is infused with the electrifying energy the quartet bring to every live performance.

Hit single Move took the UK by storm in September, and sold over 130,000 copies within the first three weeks of its release in November.

Showcasing the girls’ ability to create fun and powerful pop music, Move was a guaranteed dance floor filler.

Across the 12 tracks that make up Salute, Little Mix boldly expanded their contemporary pop and R&B influences with forward-looking production from the UK’s finest up-and-coming talent.

Either writing or co-writing nine tracks themselves, collaborators across the album included up-and-comer Duvall, who added sampled beat boxing and vocal flourishes to Move, whilst MNEK lent his hand to the explosive euphoria of Nothing Feels Like You.

TMS, the team behind smash hits Wings and DNA, once again combined with the band for the single Little Me.

Still maintaining elements of the sound that made their debut such a standout, Little Mix also re-teamed with several other familiar collaborators namely Nicola Roberts, Shaznay Lewis and Futurecut. The result was an album that cementsedtheir place as a bold, UK pop act.

Since Little Mix formed in 2011 for the X Factor, they’ve had two No.1 singles and a platinum selling debut album in the UK.

They’ve also flown the flag for British pop music abroad, with DNA, certified gold in Australia, and Top 5 in Japan.

In the US they broke the Spice Girls’ record for the highest ever US chart debut by a British girl group, entering the charts at No.4. 2014 kicked off with the girls touring the US with Demi Lovato. Salute also saw them once again achieve a second top 5 album in the UK.
