Gadgets : Dyson V6 Mattress Handheld Super Vacuum
Not content to only make plain old vacuums, Dyson is pumping out specialized vacuums for all your home cleaning needs. Later this month, they’ll start selling the Dyson V6 Mattress, a modified version of their V6 Absolute cordless vacuum that debuted earlier this year.
The V6 Mattress uses the same V6 motor as the cordless vacuum. That powerful motor has been stuffed into a smaller body that makes more sense for handheld use on mattresses. The HEPA filtration system keeps all of those dust particles and bacteria you’re pulling out of your mattress in the vacuum, instead of shooting them into air. That’s great news, because there’s a ton of that stuff on your mattress, which is the most difficult to clean dust collector in the house.
The brush has also been modified slightly to work best with the soft surface of most mattresses, using stiff nylon bristles on a full-width brush bar. Those nylon bristles should be tough enough to dislodge dust and bacteria, but easier on the mattress than the carbon fiber bristles found on the V6 Absolute.
Like the V6 Absolute, the V6 Mattress has a 20-minute battery life, which, unlike the V6 Absolute, should be more than enough to get the job done in one go. The V6 Mattress will debut on the Home Shopping Network on April 20 at $250 and will go on sale online the day after.
