With the release of his mixtape, Electric Highway, this week, Rockie Fresh became the rookie name on everyone's lips.
The Chicago native is hardly new to rapping, and doesn't fully consider himself a rapper, but more of an artist, and when it comes to expressing his creativity, rap is just one of many portals he uses.
After much personal deliberation, the 21-year-old Windy City dweller is celebrating the ink drying on his new Maybach Music Group deal, but is being very careful not to box himself into any rap scene.

Although many have tried to draw correlations between Rockie Fresh and fellow Chi rappers like King Louie and Sasha Go Hard, he just doesn't think he can be pigeonholed. That trait must have been what Diddy and Ross saw in the rapper that urged them both to hit up Rockie for some talk. In the end, he ultimately chose Ross with a little guidance from the big man upstairs.
