P!nk dominates the weekly tally of Hot Tours with box office revenue reported from a record-breaking 18-show engagement during the Australian leg of her Truth About Love tour.
The pop star broke her own mark at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena with the 18th sold out performance, having set a house record in 2009 with 17 shows on her Funhouse tour. The combined gross of $29.2 million (US$) in Melbourne is the largest gross for any headliner at a single venue this year.
Country star Taylor Swift lands among the week’s top-grossing touring artists (No. 3) with ticket sales reported from the final four arenas on the North American leg of her Red tour. A final three-night stand occurred, appropriately enough, in country music’s hometown with sellout crowds at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Sept. 19-21. With the North American jaunt now in the books, overall grosses from the tour currently total $115.3 million since kicking off in March with attendance at 1.3 million from 66 sold out shows. Now on hiatus, the tour will resume the last weekend of November for a brief five-city run through markets in New Zealand and Australia before wrapping on Dec. 14.
Bruce Springsteen has played the final date on his Wrecking Ball world tour with the E Street Band that launched in March of 2012 and wrapped this month in Brazil. He takes the No. 4 slot this week with $4.9 million in sales from four stops that included two legs in North America, two in Europe and jaunts in Australia and South America during its 18-month run. Since its launch, a total of 127 performances in 22 countries were reported to Billboard, totaling $356 million in sales from 3.6 million sold seats. Stockholm produced the tour’s top gross and attendance totals with $16.3 million reported from the 50,000-seat stadium, Friends Arena earlier this year. The three-show engagement on May 4, 5 and 11 featured sellout crowds on each night, totaling 164,325 for the run.
