Who Is Newtones?
The Newtones is a coed student run a cappella group from Newton South High School in Newton, Massachusetts.
The Newtones, which is almost entirely student-run, sing a variety of pop and rap songs. The group consists of 14 Newton South High School students and three homeless men. The group performs in and around the streets of Boston and competes at regional competitions.
The group has performed with the likes of Sara Bareilles and their school principal and recorded for Ben Folds' "University a Cappella" album. The album is now selling across the nation and the world. More information is on Ben Folds' website.
The Newtones' final concert of the season, known as Acafest, will take place on May 17th, 2013.
