The State Farm Austin Urban Music Festival is an outdoor
family-oriented music festival held in the heart of Austin along the banks of
Town Lake at Auditorium Shores. Each year, AUMF is scheduled to coincide with
the annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays presented by State Farm. The Texas
Relays is the largest relays in the southwest and first outdoor relays in the
USA with track and field athletes from Texas high schools, college, and
universities nationwide and professionals come to compete. The Relay Weekend in
it self has became one of the largest events in Austin every year with
approximately 40-60,000 descending on the city.

To celebrate AUMF’s move to the next level, an evening of
live music, fun, games, drink and food special and free prizes will be extended
to Austin’s hottest people ready to celebrate the festival’s seventh year of
bringing good and clean for the entire family to the City of Austin. Tickets
for both days’ events will available for purchase throughout the evening. AUMF
will also be a raffling away two sets of two-day passes for two people for
2012’s festival on Auditorium Shores in downtown Austin. This year’s Urban
Music Fest will be held on March 30-31, 2012.
AUMF is excited to present the Ticket Release Party to get
the excitement rolling for this year’s festival for the hottest urban concert
series to hit Austin during the nationally attended Clyde Littlefield Texas
Relay’s Weekend. 2012 has taken the festival to the next level featuring a
two-day fun-filled event for the entire family. This year’s two-day festival
will include national recording artists; Kenneth “BabyFace” Edmonds, Boys II
Men, Miguel, Melanie Fiona, V.I.C “The King of Wobble” and others.
On February 1, 2012, tickets will be available to purchase.
Tickets for the Friday portion of the festival will be $20 presale, and $25 at
the gate. Tickets for the Saturday events will be $25 presale and $30 at the
gate. Additionally, tickets for both nights can be purchased for $30 as a
combination package at the Ticket Release Happy Hour on February 1, 2012.
The Festival has consistently provided a venue for local
performers as well as presented top national R&B acts that provide
family-friendly entertainment. To ensure the continued growth and success of
the Festival, in 2009 State Farm announced their three-year sponsorship of both
the Festival and the Relays. “State Farm has a long and demonstrated history of
supporting the African-American community in the markets that we serve and
these events offer a great opportunity to encourage community growth,” noted
Mike Hargis, Texas Zone Agency Vice President for State Farm.
More than 15,000 music revelers annually converge on
Auditorium Shores to enjoy Austin’s only music festival focused on R&B,
neo-soul and hip hop music. Annually, more than 40,000 visitors from the state
of Texas and the southwestern region of the United States flock to Austin
during Texas Relays weekend to enjoy athletic competition and cultural
connections.
