The Urban Country Music Festival in the Queensland town of
Caboolture, will be kicking up it’s heels from Long May weekend with a star
studded line up. Each year this small town — only 45 minutes north of Brisbane
— opens its gates to 35,000 day visitors geared up for four days of the
nation’s hottest country artists at FREE and ticketed events.
The festival features two ticketed concerts with the Friday
night concert featuring Lee Kernaghan, Shannon Noll, Beccy Cole, Markus Meier
and Jayne Denham. Saturday 5 May’s Concert will host Troy Cassar-Daley, Adam
Harvey, Sunny Cowgirls, Busby Marou, Doug Bruce and the Tailgaters plus the
2012 Toyota Star Marker. Family favourite Urban Blaze is sure to be the star of
Sunday 6 May. For a gold coin donation concert goers can enjoy Morgan Evans,
The Wolverines and more next to the crackling bonfires, as well as a fireworks
extravaganza.
Festival favourites including the Beaut Ute Show, Urban
Rodeo, Bush Poets, Songwriters Cafe, line-dancing, clogging, Stockman’s Arena

While the press release describes the Queensland town of
Caboolture as ‘a little bit urban and a little bit country’, the first weekend
in May (April 29 – May 2) it’s all country when the Urban Country Music
Festival rolls into town. Over the course of four days you can enjoy two great
concerts and a whole host of free events all celebrating country music in all
its forms!

Boasting a new festival precinct in 2011 including the
Caboolture Historical Village, Caboolture Showgrounds and Alexander Barr
Sporting Complex with camping only a stone’s throw away – it will be a weekend
not to be missed.
Family favourite Urban Blaze has a new role in 2011 – to
open the festival in true country style on Friday Night. The festival is
pleased to welcome back country superstars Jetty Road to kick up some dust
alongside Paul Costa, The Bostocks and 2010 Voice of Urban winners BRADE, with
crackling bonfires, fire twirling, tough of nails competition and a fireworks
extravaganza.
Festival favourites including the Beaut Ute Competition,
Bush Poets, Bluegrass Brunch, linedancing, clogging, Songwriters Café, New
Zealand Showcase, Stockman’s Arena and Voice of Urban Talent Search will be
returning in 2011. Most events and concerts are delivered free or at little
cost.
Grammy Nominated heart throb – Joe Nichols from USA (hits
include ‘Tequila Makes Her
Clothes Fall Off’, ‘Gimme That Girl’ and ‘The Impossible’)
will set hearts racing when he takes to the stage at the Saturday Night
Concert. Joe will be supported by James Reyne, The McClymonts, Jonah’s Road and
the 2011 Toyota Starmaker Luke Dickens. For those that enjoy more urban music,
the Sunday Night Concert is headlined by Evermore. Joining them onstage is
Thirsty Merc, The Potbelleez, Amy Meredith and Sinead Burgess.
The festival is also welcoming a Friday Night Rodeo, Urban
Country Tribute Show to legends Slim Dusty and Johnny Cash and a Sunday Gospel
concert.
The festival, presented by Moreton Bay Regional Council, is
supported by major sponsors Caboolture Shire Herald and Grand Prix Mazda.
