Listen To Aubrey O'Day : Between Two Evils

Who Is Aubrey O'Day?
“I lived on the stage, and even at 6, slept behind the seats of the theatre”. – Aubrey O’Day -

She pursued her love of performing through the years with various leads in many musical productions, including Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, Carmen in Fame, Sandy in Grease, Liesl in The Sound of Music, Tzeitel in The Fiddler on the Roof, Mimi in Rent, Elphaba in Wicked, Val in A Chorus Line, and the list goes on and on. From her first competition, Aubrey has not only been recognized by judges and audiences alike, but has been remembered and stood out in a crowd as a star.

In 1992, she received her first honor, the SCETA Distinguished Theatrical Performance Award and from there moved on to receive several others, including the Desert Theatre League’s Outstanding Juvenile Performer in 1995, the Starmania Nationals’ Junior Pop Vocalist in 1996, the California Arts’ Scholar in Music and in Dance twice in 1997, a nomination for the Desert Theatre League’s best supporting actress in 1998, the Desert Theatre League’s Best Actress in 1999 and was one of the top five finalists for the 98.7 Be a Star Contest. Aubrey stared in the hit T.V. show “Making the Band 3″, and was chosen personally by renowned hip-hop artist and producer Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs, for a spot in The Band later named, Danity Kane.

“You’ve been like a captain of the group to me just by leading by example. You’ve displayed the hunger and perseverance that it takes to be a super star. I built this group around you!” Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs.

Although leading an exceptionally busy schedule, Aubrey O’Day devotes any free time she has to charity work. Before graduating from UC Irvine, she spent a semester at sea. This is where she learned of her love for charities. While touring the world in such places as Japan, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Tanzania, South Africa, Brazil, Cuba and many more, she worked with many service organizations. She worked in orphanages, refugee centers, battered women facilities and hospitals but most passionately with children with AIDS.

“I loved every minute of it and thus found my second passion to performing…charity!”

Since then she has started one of her own, called FAN (Fight AIDS Now). Her mission is to work hands on giving therapy and art to the children in hospitals. She has also donated her time to Responsibility being a Big Sister and to The Pink Project, which is an organization that donates to RAINN and LABCA. You can see her in their star studded book in stores now. She also walked in the Celebrity Catwalk Charity to raise funds and awareness for National Animal Rescue.

Aubrey has wanted to be a super star since she was born! Oprah has already compared this rising star to some of today’s top icons, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears. Most recently featured on the cover of Complex magazine, she also has graced the covers of Jadore, Image, Palm Springs Life, King, Right On, Dub Magazine, Curve, Envy, and Paper Magazine. Additionally, Aubrey has done features for GQ, In Touch, Us Weekly, Blender magazines Hot 100, Stuff magazines Hit List and Maxim’s Top 100.

Most recently, Aubrey was able to live her dream by starring as Amber Von Tussle in Hairspray on Broadway. Aubrey O’Day is destined to spend her life on stage and in the public eye. She captures her audience not only with her outstanding looks, her girlish smile, and her passion for honest expression, but most importantly her unmistakable talent.

“At this point in my life, the stage has taught me the things I value most in my character: compassion, patience, and eternal love for anything or anyone expressive and unrestrained.”

Between Two Evils Review
Look: If you thought I was going to let Aubrey O’Day release new music without commenting, you were sorely mistaken. The Danity Kane vixen has been in the studio with her Making The Band cohorts on a reunion project, but while fans await new tunes from the girls together, she’s also dropped a solo EP, Between Two Evils. And despite the cover artwork, which is aggressively, offensively basic (sorry, Aubs), the tunes inside are pretty damn good: Sharp, polished dance-pop that delivers on her diva potential.

There’s the stomping beat of the excellent “Let Me Lay,” and the big pop melodies of “Before I Drown” are finely crafted, but “Love Me When You Leave” is just the best, as huge a dancefloor filler as anything out of David Guetta‘s back catalogue. Considering it was released independently, it sounds impressively sure-footed — and indeed, it’s paying off, since the EP is already #1 on the iTunes Dance Charts (due in no small part to Aubrey’s endless promotion on Twitter).
